Matt's heightened senses allow him to be Daredevil, and to do a number of other things that you would not expect of someone who is totally blind, but they don't – and here's the kicker – actually make him sighted. Part of the irony of Matt's peculiar condition is that if his senses actually did compensate for his blindness in any and all situations, he wouldn't have to "pretend to be blind" in the first place.
