FLORENCE PUGH Venice International Film Festival (September 05, 2022)
The nuns who took care of the building are thrilled that skaters saved the church. They even let the skaters push them around on the skateboards.
Whelp I just called racist by a bunch of students while substituting because I wouldn’t let them go to the rest room… after they were blatantly disrespectful and tried to tell me how things were done in their classroom… which was not what the teacher notes instructed. All because I let one girl go to the restroom before them and wouldn’t let anyone else go before she came back. And I am white and they aren’t.
I really don’t want to ever substitute for a Junior High School ever again.
two sick horses evaluating an orb
“it floats”
“don’t like that”
the ORIGINAL orb ponderers 😤 respect your history
“don’t like that” is in my everyday lexicon bc of this post.
people give twilight a lot of shit but its depiction of stupid teenaged boys is unparalleled
me
That face cats have when they’re very young and they look like they just woke up from a four hour nap,, yeah
This one
what is it about capybaras that attracts groups of small animals to them? Its not just mammals either its like birds and turtles and frogs too
look at this shit
They radiate peace
capybaras are friend shaped
I love this post
This is actually a cool thing I know about!
In the wild capybaras live in large groups so naturally a female capybara will take care of not only her own offspring, but all of the other offspring in the group. So capybaras are super great mothers who will adopt pretty much anything and take care of it.
Lots of places that rescue different animals will give a group of baby animals to a capybara to raise if they have one.
Like puppies
Ducks
Deer
Emus
They are just super calm animals so they’re naturally great at mothering or just existing in a group!

The captions are also really cute, although they mostly describe what’s in each photo:
Bulbasaur: Somehow, nomming on my clothes… has become a weird habit of theirs.
Venusaur: That hasn’t changed now that they’ve grown, but they’re very gentle.
Charmander: It’s my first attempt, but I made a plushie so that he wouldn’t get lonely.
Charizard: That plushie seems to be his favorite even now.
Squirtle: Squirtle’s a bit timid and hides behind me at the smallest things.
Blastoise: Looks like they’re scared of the first Pichu they’ve seen. You’re not really hiding!
@noelle217
This is adorable
They just posted some more!

And some more!
You forgot these!!!
I’m disappointed that these were left out
Bees choose to live in the box where they know damn well that a large fraction of the honey will periodically be removed, instead of simply leaving that place like they are perfectly able to do, because the human box comes with an invulnerable titan to guard them against all threats. The bees consider the payment offered to this colossal mercenary to be a pretty good deal.
Bees know about supply and demand
Protection money
Protection honey
Moulay Hassan, Crown Prince of Morocco hates it when you try to kiss his hand.
Thas the fastest snatch ever
This is all traditional in Morocco. The royalty are supposed to reject hand kisses as a show of humbleness.
It’s kind of like when someone bows to royalty and the king goes, “No no, no need to bow”.
It’s not that the prince is a snobby kid—it’s just what he’s supposed to do.
I’ve seen this post before so many time but never before with that last addition. The added context definitely changes things
OH MY GOD
I've been laughing like a hyena for the past 15 minutes
This process right here??? Cinematic gold.
The thing I hate most about depression is that it tricks you into thinking you don’t have depression. It makes you think that nothing is wrong with you, that you just feel this way because you lack value as a person. Whether that’s in your relationships, your academics, or a view of yourself, it makes you think you aren’t good enough for any of that.
“It’s not the illness,” it says, “You feel this way because it’s who you are.”
“Mental illness is like fighting a war where the enemy’s strategy is to convince you that the war isn’t actually happening.”
Me: I can’t get out of bed today, what is wrong with me. I’m so lazy and terrible and I am a huge flake and there has got to be something wrong with me. My brain: There is no war in Ba Sing Se.
Aliens: Wow you guys sure are completely normal and not at all indescribably horny.
NASA *beating the alien fuckers with a broom*: Yep. Just a completely normal species. no inappropriate lusting for extraterrestrial booty here, no sir.
I couldn’t let this be hidden in the replies

Despite being in my late teens or possibly early twenties when we met, and despite being a grandchild by marriage only and living several states away, I was instantly rocketed to the position of favored grandchild by Mama Tickey, Last of the Southern Belles, when I became the first grandchild in a decade to send her a thank-you note for a Christmas gift. The power of the thank-you note cannot be understated.
The “don’t start with the thankyou because there’s nowhere to go from there” part is also really good advice.
I will say while generally I agree with that, an alternate route to take is to start with a thank you and then go into how the gift has improved your life – you have to have really loved the gift to take this route, but “Thank you for the lovely Arbor Day sweater; it fits perfectly and has already helped me conceal my cocaine selling from the police several times” is a legitimate strategy. I know when I give a gift card I always like to hear what the person bought with it (in part so that I can take notes for future giving).
