You know what? I'm not going to try to keep this blog to no activity anymore. So, here's a pinned post where I'll be going over what you can expect from this page. I'll put it so under the cut to reduce the amount of scrolling you need to get to what I have shared or posted.
Important Info:
For anyone who it matters to: I'm 19, he/him, a Christian, and want this blog to stick to sfw content being shown on here. Anything I reblog, or post myself, will be sfw. (In other words: anything that I would make it possible for people following me to see without having to go searching.) At the worst, depending on the content, it could be a bit dark in certain cases, but don't expect that to be the regular. Also I have an AO3 under the same name (InkArchivist) that I update if I want to. Please don't ask me to.
Side Blog List: @ink-ssw (PHM, Outer Wilds, maybe a small amount of Subnautica)
Simple DNI:
Creeps, Extremists/Radicalists of any type, People that hate an entire group (racial, cultural, doesn't matter).
Blog Rules:
1: No IRL discussions. Art is okay, stories are okay, any fiction is okay, but take your politics and such elsewhere. Any attempt to bring IRL events will be given two chances to stop. After that, block.
2: If you don't like something, leave. Hate comments will lead to blocking, no tolerance.
3: No attempting to incite violence or self-harm. Again, instant block, no tolerance.
I hope this is clear enough. I want this to be a safe space to see art, stories, and random thoughts. Asks are off for now.
If you think you see my art on a different blog, it might be something I didn't want to put on here. Please don't bring it up. (I know I haven't put any art here yet, but for when I do.) If you see one of my shared art pieces anywhere that isn't discord, tumblr, or eventually YouTube, please double check this list. If I haven't updated the list to show that platform, report it and move on. Again, hate is not tolerated.
This is sweet... Now I kind of want to write a short story. @unknownfishsposts, if you read it, I hope you enjoy it. :)
Moonlight Sonata
It was always pleasant to be there for his starlight. They treated him and Sun as equals despite their nature as animatronics, not to mention that they were adorable to him and Sun. Right now, they were trying to do some extra work that they wanted to handle to prepare for the next work day.
11:47 pm
That can't be the right time, right? Why would his starlight overwork themself to such an extent? But a look out the window at least confirmed that it was well into the night. He almost referred to them at naughty, an instinct from dealing with kids that simply refused to sleep, but he didn't want to say that. They were too precious, he'd feel terrible saying such a thing to someone he cares for so much.
---
It felt like the work to handle just didn't stop. Every time one task is finished, you remember another task that you had to finish because you "saved it for later" for too long. At least some of them were basically done, and it was hard to sleep anyway while knowing this task would be waiting for you in the morning.
You're soon pulled out of your focus (and stress, but you didn't realize that) by an animatronic hand on your shoulder. "Oh, hey there Moon. Sorry I'm busy, were you feeling lonely?"
"Starlight..." As usual, his voice was just the right mix of gravelly and soft to be fairly calming, your shoulders loosening up subconsciously. "It's late... Believe it or not~ but you aren't too old to need to sleep." He was teasing with that first part of the sentence, but you knew he meant well.
"Sorry about that, Moon." You turn a bit in your chair at he can see the pile of paperwork. "I just need to get this done so I d-"
He pulls you out of the chair without warning, hugging you and moving over to the bed. "Paper can wait. Paper doesn't need to sleep. You do, Starlight. I'll help you finish it in the morning, okay?"
As much as you are relieved about being pulled out of it, you still found it hard to sleep. "I appreciate this, really." You look up at him, putting your hand on the side of his face plate. "But I really can't sleep. It's hard to rest knowing that I would have to do more in the morning."
---
"It's their fault for giving you too much work, Starlight... I'm sure you wouldn't have had this much work if they gave you a more reasonable daily workload. Besides, if they have a problem with you not finishing because you needed rest, you can tell them to talk to me."
It was sad that they couldn't sleep. He only wanted the best for them, but it would be hard to help them if they weren't able to sleep. Looking through some options in his head, he notices a book on the nightstand, and one of the songs he found in his library was Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. Perfect.
He sets the song to play out loud, slowing it down to make it more calming. "Alright, dear. You don't have to go right to sleep. Wanna hear a story?" Their eyes are closed, probably trying their best to at least somewhat rest in their enforced break, but they nod and agree to it.
When he opens the book, he notices that it's a collection of short stories. Leaving their bookmark alone, he turns to a more relaxing sounding story, scanning each one so he can process it faster and determine if it's a good option. When he eventually finds the right one, he starts from the beginning, not noticing himself running his fingers through their hair.
---
Moon's care felt a lot better, you felt like you were barely awake at this point. Not to mention that it felt nice to have his fingers running through your hair, and gently rubbing your scalp. It's no wonder he's the daycare attendant. The music only contributed to the feeling, the gentle and slow piano further soothing your previously restless mind. You're only awake just long enough to hear him finish the story, but he says one last thing before you drift out of consciousness for the night, softly enough that you only barely manage to hear it. "Goodnight, precious Starlight."
god it’s so sad living in an allocentric world. There are so many relationships that are so complex and nuanced that are all put under the label of ‘romantic’ and immediately all the intrigue is taken from it. Like don’t you realize that these relations are actually ENHANCED by the fact that they are not romantic or sexual?
I feel like you could twist quite a lot of tropes like this.
Spouses having marital issues and finding a way to get through it because they love each other has been done. We've seen the possibilities. But imagine the new potential if you replace this with friends who are finding themselves struggling to deal with their differences, but still wanting to be friends and see each other's growth.
Finding love feels like a common trope to me, and the first kiss even more so. But what if this was turned into a story about someone struggling to find people who are willing to be friends with them for one reason or another? There are a lot of potential obstacles you could throw in the way that are more interesting (and potentially feel a bit less concerning) than "love interest already has a partner, and it makes the love complicated" (which is where I find it a bit concerning) or "love interest doesn't like the protagonist at first". Some examples for the romance/sexuality free side: Protagonist is struggling to make a friend because of a clique, many people act like friends to get the praise of others, having to deal with loneliness despite not being alone, etc.
You can kind of see where this is going. We've done the romance tropes, aro/ace tropes deserve a turn.

Spin the wheel again. That’s who’s trying to protect you.
(If you have zero idea about a name you got, spin until you see someone you recognize.)
Are you safe?
Absolutely not. I'm dead. 100% dead.
I might stay alive, but it'll be a really close thing.
I'll take some hits, for certain, but I should be okay in the end.
A few attacks might get through, but nothing concerning.
The attacker might be able to get in one lucky hit. If that.
I am the opposite of worried. I'm 100% safe.
…Look. I've tried picturing this. But I honestly don't know how to answer.
Voting ended onJul 14
(I've run this poll twice before, expanding it significantly for the second run. With about a year passed since that second run, I thought it was time to add another couple hundred names to the list and have another go.)
I'm pretty sure I'll be pretty much fine. I got Cookie Monster from Sesame Street as the aggressor, and Ernie from Sesame Street as the protector. I don't think there's any realistic threat involved.
I guess I wouldn't mind waking up as a robot, and I did choose the name Ink Archivist (I don't always seperate them) because I thought it sounded cool. However, if it had to be the website address type of url, I don't think I'd want to have my name start with "https://www." or whatever the link for this account would be.😆
There was something I thought was really neat about TADC Episode 9, so huge spoilers below the cut. And I mean that, please don't read this unless you've really finished Episode 9.
I think it's cool how the way they're sat to eat is different in the final episode.
At the end of the pilot, they're all at a banquet table, all on one side, with varying distances between them. They can easily ignore each other, many of them would struggle to talk to each other because of the distances, and Caine wasn't present at the table because the was just the ringmaster. They're not looking at each other, they're looking at the food. Physically in the same space, but mentally isolated and without the support of the ringmaster.
At the end of the series, everyone who's there is sitting together at a circular table, with a simpler meal and all able to easily interact. With Jax abstracted, Caine took his place at the table, but they all recognized he was still okay and just hanging out in the tent instead of truly gone. They're now truly a group, not just a collection of separate people. And Caine has joined them, growing to be a better person(better AI?) after having accepted that he was in the wrong with his actions.
I just thought it was a cool parallel to the progression of the story. :)
Listen here friendo I didn’t sit through a year of organic chemistry for you to come into my house and call a carboxylic acid a saturated fatty acid you respect that hexadecanoic acid
And I didnt get a degree in biochemistry to hear you say that carboxylic acids with aliphatic chains arent fatty acids. That hexadecanoic acid IS a saturated fatty acid!
I'm not sure I'm ready to try artfight for the first time this year, but do you have any tips for someone who isn't very fast or experienced?
HEY HEYY !! YES OFC C::
honestly art fight caters well to all artists no matter how experienced and how you pace your work !
how much you're able to do in the month really doesn't matter at all ! for example in 2024 i did 1 attack for the month , in 2025 i did 7 and thats okay ::D you may see people putting out ALOT of attacks over the month (looks at a couple of my homies in particular i dont know HOW they do it) but you absolutely do not have to hold yourself to the same standard !
i remember i burnt myself out pretty quick last year trying to get a load done at once so if you're a slower pace artist like me, definitely don't try to push yourself too much ! after all its is but a game thats meant to be fun ! and if its not fun anymore, take a break ! it'll always come around again next year C::
honestly my first year participating i ended up joining last minute, only put up like 2 characters and just used that year to get a feel for what its like, and decided that i wanted to do more the year after !! it's no pressure to participate, you can freely do as little or as much as you like, hell you can even just upload a character and choose not to attack anyone if you so wish, people will just choose to draw characters for the fun of it without the expectation of art in return because that's just the fun of the game ::D
I didn't know how it worked, so it's good to know that there's no specific expectation for output or skill. It's kind of reassuring, really. Thanks for the tips, and it's good to only that it'd be okay if I joined but didn't manage to get any art done. ::)
I’m seeing a lot of people saying this post changed their brain chemistry, and as a neuroscientist I wanted to say yes!!! Yes it does!
Wanting something requires dopamine signaling, but liking something doesn’t.
If you have a mental illness/disorder that affects dopamine, you might feel that you don’t want to do the things that you like. You do still like them. You will appreciate having done them.
Let your likes guide you.
(If you want to read more, here’s one experimental paper about it. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5171207/ This theory called the incentive-sensitization theory was originally created to explain behaviors in addiction but can be applied elsewhere as well)
Rewards are both ‘liked’ and ‘wanted’, and those two words seem almost interchangeable. However, the brain circuitry that mediates the psych
A blog named "confirm-page" tagged my sideblog (and various other blogs) in the comments under its post claiming that a "minor anomaly" was detected with my account, telling me to verify my account within 48 hours by clicking a random link.
I did not click the link, of course; I reported the account for phishing and then blocked it. Just wanted to share what it looked like in case anyone else encounters it and isn't sure whether it's legit or not! :)

Tumblr would NOT contact you through tagging you on a post like this (never will); they would contact you privately e.g. via email if there was an issue.
If you're unsure of if something is actually from Tumblr, either report it (my preferred method) or look up which email address to contact Tumblr though, and use that to ask them if it's legit or not!
Edit: seems like there are multiple different blogs doing this, so keep an eye out I guess
I found a post that explains the scam better than I can. I'm just going to use the original post's tags, so don't worry about the tag section looking long. It actually had some information that I didn't know before. Thanks OP.
Caught someone impersonating the tumblr team. They tagged me in a comment saying that my account has been compromised or something. Immediately blocked them and reported the comment. Image of the page under the cut because it's a big screenshot.
