I am still so proud of this piece, proud to have completed it. I would say, it’s not just my favourite piece of 2022, but one of my favourite pieces I’ve ever done, not because of any aesthetic, but my pure emotional attachment to it. I’ve told the story several times, in person at a few Cons, and on different social media platforms. It humbled me, and the response was even more humbling.
Morpheus: Dream of the Endless and Matthew Cable India Ink on A3 Bristol
It's been two years since I almost crossed over, two years until I became one with the universe. Two years since I drew this, beginning before I was hospitalized, then finishing it after I was released. I was in no way healthy, and I thought my time here was limited, but, I survived. I dug deep, hands shaking from weakness and fever, but, I pushed on, and I made something that was so dear to me, and so we'll received by you all. You've humbled me with your live for this piece, and I am eternally greatful for it.
