Google Form where you can vote on which characters will make it into the bracket open from September 11th to September 18th (here is the link to the form) (status: voting is over)

Results which characters will proceed will be posted on September 19th

Matchups will be posted as soon as soon as they’re done afterwards

Then we’ll have one poll per day until we have a winner :)

Note: Character propaganda is 100% allowed as long as you stay civil :D

The current progress of the bracket will also be updated on this post after every poll as soon as the actually bracket begins :)

So how’s Lind L Tailor doing? (I know he’s getting his shit rocked but I still wanna check on him <3 he’s bbg supreme fr fr)

he got 30 votes!! that’s not enough for him to have actually made it into the bracket, i’m sorry. but considering how little screen time he had, i think that’s still a fine achievement!! ^_^

detailed/full results for all the characters will be posted sometime later today (probably in 12+ hours since i’m about to go to sleep so it’ll take a while until i’ll have them formatted and all that bc i don’t have that much experience with google forms^^!!)

I sooo desperately hope a few minor characters make it in. I don’t know why, but I’ve always liked side and background characters so much to the point I sometimes focus on them more than some of the main characters.

I’m not feeling particularly hopeful whatsoever for two of my personal faves (Yuri and Kal Snyder 😔) but I’m rooting for all the other minor characters to make it in. (Except for Matt. I love Matt but he needs to get out of the fandom’s spotlight for like five minutes)

Yuri has 23 votes currents and Kal Snyder has 4 ^^

out of the super minor characters it looks like only linda will make it (unless something changes lol) (and obviously matt too but that’s surprising to precisely no one). sayu will also probably make it (unless someone overtakes her until tomorrow), but idk if she really counts as a minor character tbh.

How is Naomi Misora doing ? She’s my best friend’s favourite character so I’m rooting for her on his behalf

i don't mind if the keychain gets in that was for funsies but like yeah.. the handcuffs and death notes have more relevance than some of the characters on this list... (sorry matt)

BASICALLY yes and no. like Salame is not really a character that shows up in any notable way, but Salame is used as one of the names Light wrote into the death note. and salame has 58 votes currently, which is the same amount as halle lidner. i love salame

i‘ll try to! for someone like beyond, i would just use that one graphic from LABB that‘s kinda like a shinigami Eye with that B in it. for linda, i would probably just use the manga panel she‘s in tbh. and for our beloved Prosciutto Salame, i‘d just put that frame where his name shows up lol

beyond is doing pretty well at the moment!! he‘s got 142 votes and is right behind matsuda currently!! he‘s been fairly high up from the start, so he‘ll most likely make it in!!

HEY GUYS HAVE SOME LINDA FUNFACTS

She was presumably pretty high up in the running to be L's successor (probably after Matt or near him)

She's an artist! And after she leaves Wammy's she ends up having a very successful art career

The sketch images that the the NPA had of Mello and Near were drawn by Linda !

She had absolutely no problem revealing their secret identities, she was just like yeah sure lol I'll draw them no problem

those are all so true (and iconic). ALSO linda is the only girl we know in the manga canon that was in wammy’s house!! (the movies also have kimiko kujo & that J lady from the New Generation episodes or whatever that was called and i think there is one in the games too- and ofc A who is a blank slate basically!! but yeah)

currently linda has 76 votes. she needs 22 more to overtake the character in front of her (watari) and then IF she is able to either keep that position or get even higher until the 18th, then she’d make it into the bracket!!

He’s easily the best marksman in the show, does a backflip off a fucking balcony to fake his own death, is the one to kill kira in the end, and is somehow STILL belittled for acting a little silly sometimes. Matsuda sweep!!!!

(Also, his designated color is yellow, which completes the primary color trio that Light and L are red and blue in.) (Also he’s symbolic of the average man among gods.)
