A short comic about Ro visiting Gortash's home in the Upper City during Act III.

I'm convinced the only reason we can't access the Upper City in-game is because it was never finished, not because of the Brain.

I also have a headcanon that finding Bhaal's Temple was a lot harder than simply falling into the nearest sewer grate, so Gortash and Ro ended up pooling their resources and efforts. From time to time, they would meet to discuss new leads and exchange information to make the search more effective.

Considering that doppelgangers were a 24/7 threat to Gortash, it was very much in his interest not to sit around and do nothing.

And one of those meetings ended up being moved from Wyrm's Rock to his home x)

But zooming in changes everything.

I got back to working with Gortash thanks to dear Lore (@gortashsrighthand 🤍) — she commissioned a scene and I had to prepare him for it. Just couldn't help it, I wanted a portrait first. I love this genre — micro face posing, expressions, experiments, eyes...

Then I wanted to find the previous portrait. And it took me a while to dig it up — almost a year ago.

Almost a year apart. Going back to old work is bittersweet in the best way — I had no idea what I was doing, and I loved it. Still so much to figure out.

To me, here he even looks younger (and attractive — which I never expected to say, but here we are. I bet you can guess why :)

Gorty has the fringe over his forehead to balance out the fact that his face is built like a stop sign and honestly I love that for him. I see mods that change his face shape and it looks SO WEIRD with his features. He has to be a stop sign or it's not Gortash tbh
