Delaynie felt rather pathetic at the moment. She was currently hiding out in the women’s restroom of the venue she was currently at, trying to stop hiccuping and crying so much.

The swim team had been arranged to have a big fancy dinner type party for having done so well that season. Delaynie had been elated when told of this. She immediately went to Reed to ask him to go with her, knowing fully well that wasn’t his scene. She couldn’t help but be hopeful, the growing crush she had on her friend had her determined to get Reed to accompany her. What better than to see Reed dressed up for once and spending a night at a fancy dinner with her teammates and friends.

Delaynie had tried hard to get Reed to come, but he flat out refused. It stung a bit and she easily hid it from the male, finally giving up. There was a boy Delaynie had been vaguely talking to her, possibly flirting a bit, and she had figured he would like to go with her. She asked him and was happy, not as happy as she would have been had Reed agreed, when he agreed to go. With Ainsely’s help, Delaynie had picked out a perfect deep blue dress and black heels, having her help with her make-up and heels and was ready for an amazing night. That was until she had been waiting at the venue, well after the dinner had started, and realized she had been stood up.

That left her in her current predicament. Delaynie had merely poked at her dinner and had to watch on as the people who accompanied the girls on the team to the dinner go out on the dance floor and enjoy dancing together, it all becoming too much when the slow dances began. She had rushed off to the bathroom where she was currently hiding in a stall, attempting to stop crying so hard. Wiping at her eyes and sniffling weakly, Delaynie finally grabbed her phone out of her purse and shakily dialed the number of the person she had truly wanted to be with that night.

“Hi. Um, so you know how you said I was ‘hot shit’?” Delaynie began weakly once she heard Reed pick up the phone. “I don’t think I am because I just got stood up.” She hiccuped and tried not to start outright sobbing again, especially now that Reed could hear her through the phone. “I’m sorry. I’m probably bugging you right now, I can go. God, I’m an idiot.” The redhead sniffed weakly, wiping at her eyes.
