Hey can you tell me any good puzzle games with a bit of plot in them?
I feel like I'm gonna letcha down here with what falls into this category for me, but here goes.
For mainstream games, I like the Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom a lot. The puzzles especially in TOTK are so open ended that it was a delight trying to solve them. The Horizon games are a bit less puzzle based but do require problem solving and the plot is absolutely top tier. The Last Guardian had some awesome puzzles and plot made me cry, and Okami had some problem solving.
On the more indie side of things I ended up with this point and click puzzle game called Inner World that I really really enjoyed and have no idea where it came from.
I just played thru Chants of Sennaar and loved it - if you like language puzzles with some story I highly recommend it. You gotta make your way up a Babel-inspired tower by deciphering the language symbols of the people living at each level, while helping them learn to communicate with each other again.
Also gotta agree with all the people suggesting Outer Wilds, it’s the kind of story that can change you as a person (if you’re into being a space archeologist).
Of course he's going to buy the doll, just give him a moment.
Gonna throw out something crazy. See what sticks. Maybe nothing, hopefully something:
In about 3 months, the US is getting a total solar eclipse. I am a Librarian at a Public Library hosting an event.
Now, I KNOW every corner of the globe has mythology on this very cool astrological event. Many with neat monsters/creatures to go with. It is difficult to find images of said creatures. Sometimes even difficult to find the mythology from various parts of the world. Almost impossible to find coloring pages.
I live in a tiny town, and I am doing everything I can to expand the horizons of the kiddos who live here, and they go bananas for a good story out loud, especially if they have something to do with their hands while listening, like pictures to color in.
I call on the artists of the internet. If you know of a myth about Solar Eclipse, please add on to this post. Tell me the basic myth, tell me the country/culture of origin, and please please please, add a cool picture I can turn into a coloring page. Artist names will be left on pictures for admirers to go look them up, and I hope artists see this as a fun challenge.
I don’t even know if Tumbler in English language has that much of an international presence but… 🤷🏻♀️ Here’s hoping.
I haven’t given up on Inktober, even if this piece fought me the whole way! Mothman takes a stop to say hello to the Fremont Troll!
commission for @ske1th of their grilled cheese wizard, who can only cast a grilled cheese-conjuring spell & has a teleporting grilled cheese stand (inspired by this)

Happy Pride Month 2022!!!
Faust the Crow loves you even more than she did last year!
FINALLLY! I've been looking for a way to say this for ages, THANK YOU!
Feel the need to point out that this has been said before, and better, in Penelope Scott's "Rät."
So fuck your tunnels
Fuck your cars
Fuck your rockets
Fuck your cars again
You promised you'd be Tesla
But you're just another Edison
'Cause Tesla broke a patent
All you ever broke were hearts
I can't believe you tore humanity apart
With the very same machines
That could've been our brand new start
Me entering any museum: man I’m so excited to learn all the things
Also me: GIFT SHOP GIFT SHOP GIFT SHOP
There are two dragons inside of you. One hoards knowledge and the other hoards trinkets. They’re both very excited when you bring them to a museum
This is it, this is the one
Oh mY GOD do I try
i love it when im rereading a story and i find these little breadcrumbs of foreshadowing the author left. everytime im like “ohoho!!!! i wouldve gotten that before if i had the big picture!!! and now i do!!! delightful!!!” and idk i just love being able to read the same story twice but have two different experiences. i like when a story has so many layers that it can keep you entertained for a long time as you unravel all its secret nooks and crannies. thats a good story.
@blueforthevirus
you just summed up my post in one meme and im in love with you for it
