The Starrose Family
While the family itself isn't very famous in the noble ranks, the roots of the Starrose-family are as long as most other noble houses are. The lower noble family is existent almost as long as Demacia itself, but despite their long lineage the family members never really are seen as famous in public. While the individuals are talented in many ways and usually are masters of what they do, they never seem to want to show, who they actually are or what they are doing. They don't take places in the history books of Demacia nor do they take higher roles in public. And even though Arch probably has the closest place to the king, a familymember ever had, he himself covers himself in shadows and hides behind others. Why this family is so shrouded though remains a mystery.
The bar was almost completly empty, when Arch entered it. He looked arround, but besides the bartender and a lone person at the bar, noone seemed to be here. Good. At least for now he could get some rest. He walked up to the corner and nodded to the bartender. "Give me anything. I don't really care about taste or money."
Riven paid no mind to the man that sat next to her, until he made his order. She scoffed and turned her head away from him, just in case he could have seen the smirk on her face.
A clear liquid was filled into an empty glass in front of the young man, who sipped at it, already knowing how spicy it would be. “Thank you.”, he said, before standing up and sitting don at one of the few tables around. Arch had noticed the woman’s reaction, but he had decided to not react to it. At least not instantly. After a few moments, he sighed and said loudly “Not really the nicest way to react, don’t you think?”
Riven tightened her grip around her glass. She couldn’t be that sneaky, turning around to the man. “I’m sorry were you yelling at me?”
“If you call something small like that yelling, yes, I think I was.”, Arch said, leaning back, his arms crossed in front of his chest. “Besides…do you see anyone besides ourselves here?”
Riven shrugged giving him that one, tt was pretty empty tonight.
“So what is your story? It’s got to be good if you’re willing to drink that mess.”
“Well, I just had an incident, thats all.”, Arch shrugged, not really hiding, that it didn’t really mean much to him. “Someone tried to kill me and ended up with a broken arm and a few broken rips. End of story. I am just not in the mood to care about much at the moment.”
"This makes no sense," Evette muttered to herself digging through old scrolls. "How is anyone to learn from these, if they are just..."
“…written in a language noone can understand?”, a voice asked from behind one of the bookshelves. A mans voice. And it seemed slightly annoyed. “Well, thats a mistery, noone seems to have solved yet. Although…after a few years you actually can read quite a bit…” A head popped out behind the corner, slightly smiling at the young woman. “You want some help?”, he asked.

Evette blushed and nodded, “Right..uh well. I can wait a bit, I still need to do other things like chores…” She looked at the scrolls and smiled, “If we can meet here again with them fully translated that would be easier.”
“Well, okay, then see you tomorrow.” He said smiling and stood up. It would take the night to translate these scrolls, but then again it was interesting for him too. He was able to actually learn somethings out of them too…and get some more runes into his vocabulary as well.
“Thank you so much Sir…uhm, what if your name again?”
“Arch. Arch Starrose.”, Arch said, before leaving her alone.

"Is this seat taken?" a familiar voice asked behind Relius. A hand wrapped in bandages pointed at the chair right beneath the boxer. the bar was kinda crowded, but not so crowded to be called uncomfortable.
“Not at all… I must say… It’s been a while.” He nodded to Arch and contained to down his drink. From the last time Arch had seen him, he had grown to be insanely muscular befitting someone who boxed and trained hard daily. Tattered bandages covered both hands and the area near his knuckles looked burnt and taken all kinds of unique weathering despite being magic resistant.“It’s been almost too long.. The only excitement I get now is fighting others.”demacianmastermind
“Well, thats better than what I get…”, Arch sighed but then grinned while sitting down. “Good to see you are alive. And yeah…9 months are quite some time, aren’t they?”
He looked arround, his body language showing how exhausted he actually was. “Garen caught me 3 days after we split. Lets say it was for my luck, because Evaine almost caught me during that time…this way I only was forced to get back to Demacia and get into buisness…again…at least until I get angry again and they throw me out for some dumb reason until they notice that they actually need me for fighting…” Arch rubs his neck, before shaking his head. “You know the feeling of being one of the more useful guys in the tactican units, don’t you? I mean…besides certain Raven’s you probably were one of Noxus strongest strategist…”
Arch had a bad feeling going on. Maybe it was because he hadn’t slept in about 3 days again, but it could also be that usually whenever Relius and he himself met either someone died, something blew up nin a pretty big explosion, that would make Ziggs proud, or shit fucked up in general. Well, it could also be, that they both were magnets for these things, but well…what happens happens, right?
He listened to Arch and just from the tone of his voice and how he breathed, he could easily tell he was exhausted. His body language spoke leagues of how much exhaustion he had. Calling to the Bartender, he continued to listen but placed an order with the man handling drinks with a sheet of paper and he simply nodded before going to work. He closed his eyes remembering his work as a Noxian Strategist. That was years ago and a title he long thought given up. Drinking the whiskey, he sighed. “I suppose. But me being a strategist ended long ago, Arch. For good reasons as well I don’t want to talk about either.. But, I’m not really fit to lead anyone anymore.” He added rather somberly as the bartender returned with a drink. Passing it to the Demacian man, Relius pointed to the drink. “A good drink called The Morning Rooster. Good alcohol and a good coffee. Drink up.. Looks like you need it.” It wasn’t just Arch who had such a sinking feeling. The feeling of so long ago had returned that explained impending trouble but the ex-strategist felt no need to get up and confront it yet. He felt completely relaxed for once in his life in the face of what could be trouble, confident in his abilities fully. He looked over to his old friend and debated if he should reveal his eye to him which itself seemed to have evolved over time. Disregarding the idea, he simply drank more of his drink. “So, good friend. You feel that as well?”
Arch smiled at the order. “Well, we will see about that.”, he answered and shrugged, while he sipped at the drink. He could tell the advance of Relius body with a mere glance. But on the other side, his own fighting capability hasn’t really improved. Of course, Galdenglancer was completly working this time and both, shield and sword were capable of absorbing the runic energy he had stored in the runes on his arm and on the weapon itself. He was far more powerful than the last time they met.
“Well...lets say...I see it moreover than I feel it...”, he mumbled, without looking up, while scribbling something on a small piece of paper. The ink, he was using seemed aweful red. Well, why shouldn’t it? The metallic smell that was expending from the words, was clearly the smell of blood. On another piece he wrote something. Put this runes somewhere inside your clothing. The will prevend a fatal blow if needed. “Wanted to give you this back then, but I wasn’t good enough to do it in a blink.”, he mumbled and took another sip.
He stayed silent a few seconds, before he closed his eyes. “A landscape between Demacia and Noxus. Two smaller groups of soldiers. The battle was long and hard. It ended in a draw after 4 days of fighting without any losses on either side.” He looked over to him. “If you haven’t guessed it yet...well...it took me weeks to find out, why you seemed so familiar to me, when we first met. And you don’t want to know, how hard it is for me to get into the Noxian archives without Evaine spotting me...well...raven did, but he just looked over the scrolls I was looking through and decided it wasn’t of any use for me, though I wondered why he thought so. I mean...battle reports of over 3 years ago aren’t THAT useful...but those who were still active are using some of their same strategies nowadays too...”
"Everyone is equal, when they're dead...", the blind man mumbled. It seemed like his eyes watched over the dead bodies covering the sands of the desert, but they weren't. But that wouldn't change the tears running down his face.
“Wise words, stranger. Wise words. If only the rest of the world did not have to wait until death to realise the simple fact that we are all human beings - that we are all equals.”
The jackal would stand beside him, gazing across the desert landscapes alongside the man.
“What is wrong, friend? Has something got you down?”

“I see…” Arch’s story, or what little of it that Nasus had been told, struck a little closer to home than he was comfortable with, though it also served to pique his curiosity.
He looked down at the tactitian. “…what happened?”
Arch stayed silent for a while, before he closed his eyes and began to talk. “I...lost. As headtactican of Demacia I was responsible for a few thousand lifes in the war. And then...I failed my duty. It cost so many lifes, so many innocent or guilty lifes...something that wasn’t needed, wasn’t supposed to happen.”
He stayed silent again before a slight smile appeared on his lips. “I used to fight battles without any losses...and then...all was lost...”

“This world has.”, Arch simply answered to the person he couldn’t see. “I can see more with my eyes closed...but the things I used to do...I needed them for it...”
He turned his head to the direction where Nasus was standing. “When you fail such and enourmous important task, you fail your life. YOu fail the lives of hundreds or more. I learned this the hards way...”

“Uhm,” Evette put her hands behind her back. “I..know where to look? Uhm…is that a good enough answer?” She smiled nervously.
Arch looked at her in silence, before he sighed. “I sneaked into the royal library when I was 7 years old without anyone noticing…so lets say, usually every person in the kingdom would say no. I will just go by you know where to look.” He gave her a small grin, before returning to the scrolls. “I can give you most of these in normal language. Those who aren’t translated…well, I think I can have them translated by tomorrow. Or I give you the infomations you would like to know right here and now.”

“I will try to help you…though I wonder…who the hell gave you these texts in the first place? Half of these are already translated or shouldn’t even be written in this language at all…then again…I guess its hard to know that, when you can’t read a thing inside them, right?”
Arch looked over the different writings, sorting out the few, that weren’t translated yet…until he found one old looking scroll with symboles he knew just too well.
