The response to my original post is a masterclass in reactionary guerilla ontology. Guerilla ontology being a term coined by Hakim Bey and is the radical, subversive act of hijacking and redefining reality, labels, and power dynamics

The response to my post performs a guerilla pivot by redefining who holds the dangerous power. The response argues that the accuser who defines rape subjectively is the true threat, and the accused is the one being subjugated. By flipping the binary, the replier doesn't deny rape exists. Instead, they reclassify the "rapist" as anyone who wields the label of rape without objective debate. This is classic guerilla ontology done by changing the subject of the sentence to destabilize the original power structure.

The response is arguing that if the definition becomes purely subjective ("whatever I feel it is"), the label loses its objective reality and becomes a mere weapon for social control.

By demanding a debate on what qualifies as rape, the replier is engaging in ontological hacking, and is refusing to accept the dominant culture's a priori definition, insisting that the very category of rape must be continuously renegotiated.

The statement, "people who knowingly and willingly falsely accuse others of rape, are often the same people that are not above raping others" is an ontological shock tactic.

In guerilla ontology, you disrupt the audience's assumptions by equating two seemingly opposite categories (the Accuser and the Rapist). The replier merges these identities, suggesting that the accusation and the act spring from the same authoritarian desire for domination. This is a deliberate, provocative recategorization designed to shatter the reader's default moral mapping (where Accuser = Good/Just, Rapist = Bad/Evil) and force them into the replier's new framework: Accuser = Potential Tyrant.

The replier reframes the conflict as Individual Liberty vs. Mob Subjectivity. The replier seeks to position themselves as the defender against the oppressive, ever-shifting whim of the accuser. This is the guerilla move. Co-opting the language of the oppressed and applying it to the accused.

While the replier executes the tactics of guerilla ontology (inversion, deconstruction, recategorization), it is worth noting that Bey's original concept was intended for progressive, liberatory anarchy intent on subverting state and capitalist power.

The replier weaponizes this tactic for conservative/legal-defense purposes. The replier is not dismantling a state structure but is instead attempting to dismantle a moral consensus about vulnerable victims. By using guerilla ontology to equate "defining rape subjectively" with "being a rapist," the replier achieves their goal. The response attempts to move the battlefield to "Who gets to define the abuser?" paralyzing the original argument through semantic warfare.

EDIT: I also want to point out that I highly doubt this is an intentional use of guerilla ontology as the blogs that argue these points frankly don't seem smart enough to know what guerilla ontology is or how to use it.

I believe they're engaging in something aesthetically similar by arguing semantics until the conversation is paralyzed and will treat a lack of response they deem acceptable as victory in the 'debate'. It's the same attitude they had back when they were (and probably still are) reddit atheists and 4channers, their language has just shifted to incorporate the veneer of progressivism. Which is clear when you see the same "debate meeee" attitude those kinds of people have. They still have that attitude that they know it all and are clever enough to outsmart long held societal standards around abuse.

If we take her argument to its logical conclusion, it removes all standards of conduct. It tells victims "Your safety is less important than this your abuser's comfort and social standing." That is being an enabler.

Should we have standards, especially when the legal system often fails?

Absolutely, yes. In fact, because the legal system so rarely delivers justice for sexual abuse, community-based accountability is often the only tool vulnerable people have. To reject that tool outright is to leave victims entirely defenseless.

She conflates all consequences with "exile", losing a job or having your social circle shrink are not automatically "cages." They are consequences. The severity of the consequence should ideally match the severity of the harm. She's treating a request for accountability as though it is the same as a prison sentence, which erases the nuance between a minor interpersonal conflict and a pattern of predatory abuse.

If she actually wanted restorative justice, she would be demanding that the accused take accountability, apologize, get professional help, make amends, and demonstrate changed behavior over time. Instead, Misstrogen simply demands that the community stop talking about it and accept the person back immediately. That is silencing the victims to make the community feel less "messy."

If someone has caused harm and refuses to acknowledge it, refuses to change, the community has a moral obligation to create distance.

The legal system's failure makes community standards more important, not less. Misstrogen’s rhetoric is dangerous because it strips the community of the ability to enforce those standards. She calls the accusers "monsters," but the real monster in her framework is any form of boundary-setting. Without boundaries, a community is just a hunting ground for those who refuse to change.

as an androgyne who was assigned female and is regularly read in public as a clocky tgirl... genderfuck was my goal and it was a success actually. because i am transsexual and i transed my sex and that impacted how i am perceived and move through the world. is this not in the same genre as telling certain trans women or men that they'll never pass because of their bone structure. people keep trying to make (particularly nb/gq) people feel ashamed of wanting to be androgynous (& in a lot of ways imitating the old exorsexist narrative that nonbinary/genderqueer people think we're better than binary gender conforming trans people and that "binaryphobia" is a real thing). & in doing that there's just this attitude that like, none of this genderfuckery is material, none of these people's genderfuckery could possibly be reflective of their actual social or physical experiences with gender.

and moreover that these people's desire to be androgynous is not the same as a binary person's dysphoria. binary dysphoria is something you can't help, something natural and normal and deserving of respect and care. nonbinary dysphoria is always always always read primarily as an aesthetic preference, a political maneuver, and so is treated like an ideological move to be picked apart sociopolitically. and so its totally okay to openly mock nonbinary/genderqueer people for wanting to be androgynous or "genderfuck" and to directly say they will never be able to have that and its funny and pathetic that they want to have that, because our dysphoria isn't real dysphoria, its a choice. it's something we're rubbing in your face, something that makes us think we're better than you, because god knows every thing nonbinary people do is actually about binary people and their egos.

sorry if this seems like a bad faith reading but having been facing exorsexism for a long fucking time this all just feels like "nonbinary people are annoying immature wannabe cis girls" but for a trans audience and with a lot of sociopolitical language used to obscure that. i mean the fact that "theyfab" has seen a resurgence in use as a slur by other trans people, and trying to make it about "transmascs being transmisogynistic" to obscure the obvious transmedicalism and exorsexism.... i just wish people would give a fuck about nb/gq/gnc people and exorsexism in the community because it is ALWAYS at the scene of the crime when it comes to lateral violence.
