The world is going to pot. Plants that is. I put up around 150 pots each year now. Easy to water, movable in case of frost, & changeable if the plant is not enjoying where they are living. Each container with multiple underplantings. No rabbit issues this way.
I built this arbor many years ago. Treated 4x4 posts faced with red cedar. It’s held up well, & still looks great. Clematis vines, complete the picture.
Spring is here! (For a bit) from The Garden of Great Quotations), Cazenovia, NY/ Chenango Street.
Seeds planted from mid -March through today, May 5th.in central NY, plants don’t go in the ground till the end of May. Amaranthus, arugula, edible kale, tithonia,Dichondra, deep purple cleomes. & etc.
8 year old Espaliered Apple tree. Cazenovia, NY
Peacock Ornamental cabbage, loves cool weather, tolerates frost, and survives well into early winter. Deer nibble on it, so I spray every week or two with a rotten egg spray. 3 raw eggs in a gallon of water, then leave to rot for a week, transfer into spray bottles.
Sneak peak of the ’summer studio in the barn’.
A full barn with little room to walk anymore!
Stop in and say hello during ‘Art Trail’ this Saturday September 27, & Sunday September 28th, 10-5 pm both days! Visit the’Garden of Great Quotations’ across the road & see the Gardens at their peak! Naomi has a stack of new ceramic totems for your home and gardens!!!!!!
Late summer in the garden of great quotations, Cazenovia NY.
Seed saving time. As the annual plants mature, this is the perfect time to collect, and dry thoroughly before putting into paper envelopes. Plastic may cause mold to form.
Container gardens! No rabbit problems, fewer weeds, little root competition, slugs…well, nothing stops slugs except warm dry weather. Containers need to be watered everyday . Spray once a week with rotten egg water to keep deer away
The circle garden. Garden of great quotations, Cazenovia, NY
Space aliens landed their ship here yesterday. We had a nice conversation. They were in a hurry to gamble at Turning Stone.
Pot head.
