Transphobia and misogyny are deeply interrelated forces, if transmisogyny was literally just "when these two things happen at the same time" like many transandrobros think it is, the term would become a completely useless phrase.

Transphobia always includes some degree of misogyny and misogyny always includes some degree of transphobia. It is not possible to have one but not the other, misogyny presumes a stable and inescapable feminized class and transphobia presumes the class based gender system that male supremacy is enabled through.

This is why the frameworks of directionality as expressed by Serano and other transfeminist theorists is actually useful, it describes how transmisogyny works as it's own axis of oppression, and does so by invoking the enforced male gender assignment and then transition away from it. They describe how this creates a separate transfeminized class below groups only effected by the other two.

The deep connection between misogyny and transphobia is the reason a transfeminist movement which centers transfems is necessary, but transandrobros are too misogynistic to notice the ways they reinforce their own oppression.

Every lesbian space, even those that self-describe as "trans inclusive", seems to be centered around the comfort and self-expression of TMEs regardless of gender identity without giving even a modicum of consideration to trans woman or anyone else TMA

The fact that you can't tell whether someone is TMA or TME just by looking at them isn't evidence against the existence of transmisogyny because transmisogyny is not a correct worldview.

Transfems are not actually worse than anyone else, we're not uglier, more prone to violence, or less capable. Some of us can even pass as cis women or as transmasculine. We can do so because these are categories that we made up, they don't actually exist outside of the oppressive forces that maintain them, why is this hard to understand.
