about pain

At med college one of the first lessons we learn is: if the pacient tells you they are feeling hurt or pain, you consider it true.

I asked myself the reason behind it and conclued that it's better treat someone who is lying than to leave someone in pain without treatment.

Thinking hard I also conclued that when the issue is about someone's feelings and sensations, no one can decide their intensity or their validation for the simple fact that others aren't the one who is feeling it.

So, if you are feeling hurt then you are hurt, no matter what anyone else says, it is your feeling, you are the one who can decide if they are or aren't.

Tellingly, Katie McGrath (Lena Luthor) was the one actor who dealt with the issue gracefully during the MTV interview. She spoke about working on other shows where there was a “very obvious undertone” to her character, and said that Supergirl was open to interpretation. In other words, a supportive yet thoughtfully open-ended answer.

This line about fuck perception, you are who you are feels like it’s a direct jab at that previous interview…. and thank you Katie for doing it.

A Kara that genuinely loves someone like Mon-El, compares him going away with losing her actual entire world, leaves her humanity behind because she lost her abusive boyfriend but not when she lost people like Astra (apparently he is somehow more important than her aunt), ignores the fact she and James ever dated and loved each other, values romantic love more than family or friendship and seems to care more about Mon-El than even Alex is not a Kara I can ever support.

This is definitely not my Kara.
