HEY, MOTHERFUCKERS, DERIERI’S BEEN DEAD FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR WHICH MEANS SHE’S MY BITCH NOW!
Send a number to find my muse...
Sleeping at a table.
Singing in private.
Attempting to kill a spider, and failing.
Crying laughing.
Doing something embarrassing.
Getting chores done.
Loopy with lack of sleep.
Post-wisdom teeth removal.
Hiding a broken object.
Covered in blood.
In a fit of anger.
Throwing a tantrum.
Hiding in a closet.
Stuck somewhere with your muse.
Muffling their cries.
On a swing-set alone.
Feeling lonely.
Cuddling their pillow.
Staring at your muse.
Recovering from throwing up.
Stabbing a body repeatedly.
Somewhere they’re not supposed to be.
Screaming by themselves.
Holding a wound.
Dead.
*points at romance* what the FUCK is that

What a question. Upon hearing from his father that he needed to reclaim Meliodas to take the throne, after all his loyalty and effort, he nearly wanted to– in Derieri’s not-so-elegant words– fuck off himself.
But Meliodas himself had changed his mind with a single line whispered in his ear. Now… he needed to stay loyal to him.
“Meliodas owes me a debt. Becoming demon king is not only proof of an immense power, but also the granting of even more. If either Meliodas or I reached the throne, we’d be given even more immense powers than we already have – not just in pure strength, but in spells and magic that can shape our lives in ways no mortal could. I need that power, whether I myself have it, or Meliodas is using it for me.”
He’d said too much. He knew that. Derieri was letting her motives slip more than she was used to exposing, and now he was doing the same. It was a dangerous game. And yet… for the first time in centuries, he felt the relief of speaking his motives, as vaguely as he was, out loud. Years of simply following his father’s orders, mindlessly, cutting down enemies in which he had not true fight had been draining. As the war progressed he had nearly succumbed to that servitude as his true and only purpose. Only with Meliodas’s promise did he have, as much as he’d never admit, hope.
“If he doesn’t keep his vow to me, I will cut him down myself and take my own path. But that will be then. For now, I will play his game.”
A promise, huh? It must be a good one if it compelled the proud and stubborn Prince Stick-Up-His-Ass to compromise. She snorts.
“Sounds like a bribe to me. What’s the carrot?”
Would he actually tell her? Probably not. But she was curious, and he didn’t seem like he was in a killing mood. Might as well ask. She didn't even know what she would do with the information if he gave it.

“Need I remind you that you and Monspeet were both on the same side. I don’t know what third party compelled you to make such a switch, but if you feel the need to stay secretive, I have little energy to compel you to expose your motives.”
“Without your commandment, I have no fight for you. Both you and I know I could defeat you if I put my full effort into it. There’s no need for me to prove myself to you. Run off and live in hiding, if that’s what you wish.” Was he really allowing this? His father would be furious if he allowed a traitor to escape. He remembered centuries ago when Meliodas used to pummel him for this sort of decision making. Where his brother and father were malicious and vengeful, he had simply wanted strength to further his own means. He never reveled in the fight…
“However, if I meet you on the battleground and you attack from the opposing side.” There. That was more of the tone he was used to taking with authority.
There was a difference, she wanted to say, between fighting for each other and fighting side-by-side for someone else. No way could she articulate it, though, so she let it lie.
But now that they were on familiar ground—she’s much more used to being threatened than she is to someone questioning her motives—something’s bugging her.
Everybody and their cat knew Zeldris wanted to succeed his father as the Demon King. Meliodas coming back to claim his birthright knocked him right out of the running for the throne. If she were in his position, she’d gang up with anyone she needed to to kill the competition, loyalty be damned. At the very least she’d get out from underneath the Demon King’s thumb.
So why the hell wasn’t he?
“To say it from the ass, why not fuck off, yourself? What’s in it for you?”
@personal blogs following me!
1) I’m really glad you’re here; it’s a lot of fun to share my interpretation of Derieri with you all
2) Just fyi that as a general rule, I’d prefer that personal blogs do not reblog my posts. It makes it hard to sort through notifications for replies I need to get to.
Thanks guys!!

Curiosity over takes him, throwing him a bit off balance as he was trying to simply be intimidating. Nonetheless, its hard not to question someone that’s been your ally for far longer than your enemy. He’d been dealing a lot with this sensation as of late. It angered him: was he becoming softer?
“Who exactly is this someone?” He asks. “Either way… there was no need for you to completelyabandon our cause. All you’ve likely done is infuriate the Demon King, and now Meliodas by association.” He needn’t warn her about the consequences of such an anger. But he nearly felt bad: he’d been on the opposite side of such a wrath before.
She snorts at his mention of Meliodas’ wrath. Even though she knows he’s not a force to be ignored, she can’t help but find the role reversal bitterly amusing. Unfortunately for Derieri, her death would be permanent (she still doesn’t know how the hell Meliodas came back from that, and it pisses her off). It was strange: for the first time since the Demon King awarded her the Purity precept, she feels mortal. Being blasted within inches of your life does that to a woman, she supposes.
“Monspeet,” she forces out. “Monspeet and. . . yeah, Monspeet.”
She wasn’t about to expose her soft underbelly any time soon, let alone to Zeldris. He didn’t need to know who else she felt compelled to champion.
@ephelameral made an awesome Deri mood-board so I’m sharin’ it with the world.
"So thanks a lot for listening."
“Eh?”
“Oh, yeah. Girls gotta support girls or whatever, I guess.”

Well, that seemed to hit a cord. Good, he was trying to.
“What don’t I know, exactly? Have they tricked you into believing otherwise? Are you trying to convince me that they weren’t responsible for mass murder against us?” Zeldris scoffs at the very idea. The demon clan had done a reprehensible amount of damage and bad deeds in their time, but they never painted themselves in the Holy light the Goddesses tended to. Seeing an ally– or should he say ex-ally– teaming up with such trash was aggravating.
“What exactly are you thinking, Derieri?” He finishes.
“Don’t think I forget what they’ve done!” She bares her teeth at him in a snarl. He hadn’t lost the other half of his soul in this war.
Scalding fury drowns her every time that day crosses her mind. Nothing could make her forgive the filth that murdered Poitrina. Nothing. And she can’t make it better no matter how hard she tries; no number of corpses or hours of brooding, bathing in her hatred, eases the ache of Poitrina’s death. She couldn’t fill the hole her sister left behind, not for decades, until...
“I’m fighting for someone.” It’s the best she can do to explain. “And it feels... better.”

she wants to laugh. maybe that’ s why a soft grin tugs the corners of her mouth upwards, why she ignores the obvious threat.
❝ ‘ talking from the ass,’ as you said, whatever affects the ten commandments affects me. So, yes, it is my business.❞
translation: you are more than welcome to try.
“Fine.”
She folds her arms, rippled with cords of muscle, across her chest. She pumps ferocity into her scowl and her gaze as she answers.
“Family friends. Monspeet brought my name to the Demon King.” Which is how she’d ended up in the Ten Commandments.
❝Someone has to do it. If we don’t give up, light will sure shine one day.❞

She patted out the flames on her arm with a huff, rolling her shoulders. “Yeah, well, I used to raise these creatures. No way I’m killin’ one now.” Elizabeth tilted her head back with a sigh before leveling her gaze at the dragon. “Alright. Here’s to hoping I haven’t gotten rusty over the past few millennia, hm?”
“Mm-hmm.”
She stares absently at the dragon for a moment longer before she turns her eyes to meet Elizabeth’s, and her nonchalant expression shifts into a sharp-edged, toothy grin.
“Wanna hand?”
