The Vermillion Building in Canning Town, London
These flats are right alongside the A13 road (foreground) which is the main road heading due East out of London. Presumably the colour is intended to keep you so relaxed that you forget the incessant traffic noise.

Wait are we called mammals after mammary glands? Are mammals named after tits???
ARE WE THE BOOBS CLASS?
We are. And we also named our galaxy after boob juice. Twice.
"milky way" is obviously milk, but the hidden part is that "galaxy" comes from the Greek γάλα (gála), meaning "milk".
It's the tit-goo path tit-goo-thing. We are very, very breast focused as a species.
Eukaryote (good-kernels) as opposed to prokaryotes(before-kernels). We are the Domain of Fortunate Cellular Nuclei.
Animalia (of the anima.) we are in the Kingdom of the Breathing, or the Air-Souled.
Of the Phylum (tribe or clan) Chordata (having a string). We are the Clan of the String, referencing the spinal cord.
Class Mammalia, of course. the division of the titties.
Order Primate, which is a bit stuck-up, but I suppose the people doing the naming get to pick. Primate is of course primary, or First/Highest. Interestingly, this is in the sense of it being a job; a primate is a bishop of Christianity. This is reflected in the medieval Scala Naturae, where “primate” is an office held by the “natural” or divinely appointed top being in each tier of existence. Seraphim are the primate angels; humans are the primate people; lions are the primate animals; oak trees are the primate plants; and diamonds are the primate minerals. Translating the intent here, we are the Order of Ordained Authority, which we share with other natural bosses such as lemurs.
Depending how you want to do this, we are also suborder Haplorhini, the dry-nosed. This is separated from wet-nosed apes.
After this we land in the repetition of Homina-homina-homina-homina where there are several classes that drill down ever further, all of them rooted in “hominid.” Everyone knows homo is “man, human” but the root of why it’s “man” is because it is first “earth”. Human means “earthling”, and is rooted in “not-divine.” We are the family, subfamily, tribe and genus of earthlings.
By the time you get to species we are very lonely indeed, with only one species in our genus. This is actually a terrifically lonely place, and in this we are “sapiens.” This doesn’t mean just “wise” but “being wise,” which is more of a duty than a descriptor.
When you put it in context: Domain of Fortunate Nuclei, Kingdom of the Air-Souled, Clan of the String, Class of Milky Boobs, Order of the Bosses, Family of Earthlings, Tribe of Earthlings, People of Earth, Earthlings, Thinking Earthlings.
The point of taxonomy does seem to be making oneself a box that excludes all others in order to feel properly lonely and alone in it; one’s place in the world defined until one is alone. however, zooming out a bit, it does make for some stirring company.
I am Daenerys Targaryen, Queen of the Airsouled, the first of the people of the nourishing breast, the most wise, the good cord, of the clan of the string and dry nose.

Three things to always do in rich neighborhoods when you're poor:
Thrifting
Yard sale browsing
Dumpster diving
Explanation:
People with a higher amount of disposable income are more likely to get rid of clothes that are still in good condition, while poor people are more likely to wear clothes until they fall apart. Donating old items to thrift stores has exploded in popularity over the past few years. Shopping at thrift stores closer to wealthier areas means you can usually find really good-quality stuff, especially clothing, at a higher rate than shops in poorer areas.
Yard sales in rich areas are almost always either estate sales or hosted by someone who's thinking, "I don't really need the money, I just want to get this stuff out of my house, so I'll take whatever you offer for it." My mom has scored super expensive stuff for like $5 because the seller was more worried about unloading old stuff than making a profit. I've found rare books for fifty cents. It's dope as hell.
Rich people throw out so much shit that's still usable. Furniture, clothing, electronics, even food that's still good and in the packaging. I have scored so much shit that rich people just tossed in the trash. It's great. Shops in rich areas have dumpsters overflowing with high-dollar items. (Disclaimer: dumpster diving can be risky, do it at your own risk, etc., etc.)
Also in my experience dumpster diving at dorms at the end of the school year is awesome. I have seen working tvs, couches, paintings etc it sucks that they're just throwing stuff in the trash but you can save it andget a bunch of cool stuff!
Pro tips
Even if you're just driving thru, people in nice neighborhoods sometimes just put stuff out front by the street hoping others will take it.

steven universe discourse was so funny.
yes, this 14 year old child should execute these three dictators. even though with them kept alive, they literally have the power to resurrect everyone they've killed. ignore that. make the traumatized little boy kill them in cold blood. fuck im good at watching childrens cartoons.
I feel like that take exists partly because there was no real discussion in the show of how the Diamonds came to change their ways and what that internal process looked like, which was typically one of the greatest strengths of the show. SU had a 6th season planned before the network told the crewniverse it wasn't getting a 6th season, which is why I suspect white Diamond ended up being "converted" suddenly by a deus ex machina by the end.
We never got a proper peek into her head, and regardless of whether folks think she deserves a redemption, she did deserve a better resolution. Her desire to atone for her past transgressions wasn't even really touched upon until CN renewed season 6 late an it was awkwardly crammed into SU Future
it's a little ironic that people wanna be like "nooo COVID isn't an ongoing issue stop saying that" for like six years and then get mad and be like "why is everyone getting these bogus diagnoses out of nowhere like POTS who's ever heard of that ME/CFS isn't real stop getting these mystery diagnoses for no reason out of nowhere" you can really hear the nooo you can't acquire long-term disabling conditions stoppp my profit margins noooo
I have never read or watched Death Note and i know the whole ‘book that kills people’ premise but from all the shit i see on here it seems to be two teenaged boys acting out this scene over and over
honestly I hate “can you pet the dog?!?” not for any of the common reasons but because it was initially interesting as a proposition of “can you interact with the world in a way that is not within the primary mechanical loop” and that very quickly fell away to being “well now any indie developer making a game has to have a pet the dog button or they’re going to get letters”
One of my dream projects has an NPC with a dog, and if you try to pet it, the owner tells you not to do that. If you try again, it bites you and you take damage. I want to do this entirely because I genuinely believe that this would make me feel way more grounded in the world than any “click button to see cute animation” would ever do, and also it would be really funny to have a game where people lose their runs because they tried to pet a dog they were told not to pet
I just wanted to pet the dog
Tag game reblog this and put Baby’s First Blorbo in the tags like who was the first Character to move into your head and live there back when you were still figuring out how to tie your shoes

“The Roman Catholic Parish in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan was just grafitted.”
Nah let’s post it. Let’s feel it. Don’t look away.
I notice alot of my followers on here skipping these posts just to mess with my lgbt ones, suspiciously the white popular ones.
Heres a not so friendly reminder, as an lgbt metis person, i dont give a single fuck what your blog is themed or if this is too painful for you to look at. Reblog this post. Reblog this post with the sources of the 751 children who were found.
Your compliance and silence as well as the compliance and silence of your ancestors is what allowed these schools to open and kill first nations children. The children of MY people.
Dont follow me if you cant reblog this post or the one with sources to your political blog or your most popular blog. Add trigger warnings if you must but if your political blog is only focused on the harms you personally face like being lgbt then you need to see some bigger pictures and stop being afraid of angering your racist mutural or actually saying some shit about racism. If you can reblog some antifa graphics or add blm to your bio to be a surface level ally, you can reblog some sources on the genocide first nations people faced and still face today.
They were CHILDREN.
They were murdered in cold blood.
I’d like to add this photo I took last night in Victoria of the statue of Captain Cook. Though I myself am not indigenous, I 100% agree that these murderers, kidnappers and rapists shouldn’t have huge statues and plaques that decorate them and say how “great” they were.
Here’s another photo of the legislative assembly from yesterday. Later on there were more items, candles and signs at the memorial, as well as a big poster with 1505 painted on it but I didn’t get a picture
People need to see this. Not just quickly glance at the photos and keep on scrolling. They need to see this.
Reblog this or just stop following me
I had seen the first picture of the church, but not the second.
I went to a “Cancel Canada Day” event and burst into tears - not because I was surprised to learn of the unmarked graves (survivors told us they were there. Our government pushed it aside, and we let them), but because seeing all the people gathered in mourning drove it home: They. Were. Children.
This is my country’s legacy - and it’s not history. The last schools closed during my lifetime. My Father went to school with students who lived at the local residential school, after it was changed to a boarding house (read: holding centre) for indigenous youth who went to local schools.
They were all children, injured, abused, and killed in my country’s attempt to erase them. I want the world to see this and hold the state accountable to *active* reconciliation> I mean we could at least truly adopt UNDRIP in action instead of words for god’s sake.
here you can read an article about a survivor of the church and some of the things he experienced to help put into perspective how awful and just how recent it was
