Binders are made to compress the fatty tissue of the breast. Implants are made of silicone and cannot be compressed the same way. While uncommon, they are even known to rupture and pop, which could result in you losing not only your breasts but possibly even your life.

If you are a male-at-birth genderfluid person who has fluctuating chest dysphoria, please instead of implants consider:

-using breastforms

-using a push-up bra (this will be particularly helpful if you choose to start HRT, as you will start to build up breast tissue)

-If you happen to have the money and happen to get liposuction, it’s also not unheard of for people to have the fat “transferred” to their breasts. If you do this you will be able to bind because it will be the fatty tissue that binders are intented for rather than silicone.

As nonbinary people, our dysphoria is uncommon, and hardly ever talked about. Safety issues like these hardly ever come up for binary trans people, so we need to make knowledge like this more widespread to keep our fellow nonbinary people safe. Share to spread the word save a gendefluid person considering binding their implants.

A hypothetical activist community/coalition

Know what is something I’ve been thinking about for a while? I think there are very real and solid grounds to argue that there should be a coalition between: trans women, women with PCOS, intersex women in general, and anyone who identifies as a woman while also having had an excess of unwanted androgens (aka testosterone/masculinizing hormones) at some point in their development/life.

I see it as being a way to fight back against the misogyny we all face, for being women who have some amount of secondary, and sometimes primary, sex characteristics which were caused by those androgens. Due to the cissexist/cisnormative society we all inhabit, we are almost all made to feel some level of shame over these androgenic characteristics, and understandably often try to rectify them through similar means. These include hrt, various temp/perm hair removal methods, contouring/feminizing makeup, etc. We also almost all face some level of difficulty conceiving, inability to carry a pregnancy, or total infertility due to the various changes that these unwanted androgens bring about in our bodies.

We could all benefit from an advocacy platform that denounces the sexist notion that a woman’s validity has anything to do with the amount of androgenic sex characteristics that she has, or has previously had.

I see it as being welcoming of women regardless of whether or not they are gender conforming, and also essentially without considering this as a factor. That is to say, it isn’t advocacy centered around gnc womanhood, lgbtq womanhood, or anything like that. These people are 100% welcome, and will in fact likely be a large portion of the people represented by this advocacy, but it isn’t primarily about that. I want it to be advocacy that is aware of its intersections, but which is primarily a coalition by and for women who have had excessive/unwanted androgen exposure effect their lives.

I’m sure there is fertile grounds for a similar community to be built amongst trans men, intersex men, and all men who have some amount of unwanted estrogenic chracteristics as well. Perhaps a community could even be built by men who face unwanted estrogens and women who face unwanted androgens. However, I don’t feel it’s my lane to say anything more than that on their behalf atm. I’m not at all sure how most nonbinary people will feel about all this, but would want them to feel welcome to engage with either hypothetical community if they felt it represented them, their concens, or their interests…

Anyone’s feedback would be more than appreciated!!!

Hey y’all it’s Cora, I’m a mod who isn’t active much anymore, becaue I’ve realized I am actually a binary trans woman. However, after that my fiancé came out to me as nonbinary, and they encouraged me to share it with the nonbinary gorups I’m still a part of. Hope this isn’t out of place or offensively to anyone. Transgender Asylum-Seeker Who Died In ICE Custody Was Beaten, Autopsy Shows

Roxsana Hernández Rodriguez had "deep bruises" on her body and died of dehydration, an independent autopsy found.

A transgender asylum-seeker who fell sick and died while being held by Immigration and Customs Enforcement may have been beaten while in federal custody, according to an independent autopsy report released this week.

The body of 33-year-old trans woman Roxsana Hernández Rodriguez was marked by “deep bruises” and “contusions” consistent with “blows and/or kicks and possible strikes with a blunt object,” The Washington Post reported on Monday, citing the autopsy commissioned by Hernández’s family. Her wrists showed signs of extensive hemorrhaging, which the report said was “typical of handcuff injuries.”

The autopsy shows Hernández “endured physical assault and abuse while in custody,” said the California-based Transgender Law Center, which, along with other activist groups, plans to file a wrongful death lawsuit against ICE and other federal immigration agencies on behalf of Hernández’s family. The report also shows that Hernández, who was HIV-positive, died from “severe complications of dehydration” exacerbated by HIV infection.

“People need to know that she died of dehydration,” Lynly Egyes, director of litigation for the Transgender Law Center, told the San Diego Union-Tribune.  “People need to know that her death was preventable.”

Hey this might seem like a no-brainer to most people but let me just say, because 17 year old me really needed to hear this, it’s not too late to transition. It’s not.

I had only ever met or heard of people that started transitioning physically and socially when they were 15 or younger. I thought that at 17 I was already too late. If you’re 16 or 25 or 50 or 76 or 84 it’s not too late.

Like I said, probably a no brainer to most but I was actually really scared about this when I was 17, 18, 19, especially since I didn’t know when it would be completely safe to come out and I wasn’t sure if I’d be in the closet till I was out of college so yeah thought I’d say something in case someone needed to hear it. You’ll be okay. You can wait. It’s okay if you realized/came to terms with your transness after your mid teens, twenties, thirties.

As long as you’re still breathing it’s not too late.

From the article: Italian authorities are to carry out a census of Roma people with a view to deporting those without papers, according to new Interior Minister Matteo Salvini. Salvini, head of the anti-immigration League party that is the junior party in Italy’s governing coalition, plans to order “a survey of Roma in Italy to find out who, how, how many”, he told a northern Italian TV station on Monday, saying the information would be collected in a “register”.

“Irregular [undocumented] foreigners will be deported via agreements with other countries, but Italian Roma unfortunately you have to keep at home,” he was quoted as saying.

Salvini has a long history of targeting Italy’s Roma and Sinti population, which numbers an estimated 130,000-170,000, around half of whom are believed to be Italian citizens.

An update and question from one of your mods...

Hey there diamoric peeps, I just want to take a moment to thank the nonbinary/diamoric communities for being such welcoming, open, accepting and loving groups of people. Y’all are wonderful and I owe you so much! Before finding my way to your door, I was almost 28 years old and still trying to force myself into the cis male identity that society had set out for me at birth...

So with a heavy heart, along with excitement, I am announcing that I no longer personally identify as nonbinary. Several different enby identities, (questioning, enby, demigirl, and transfeminine) have served as the stepping stones to my announcement that I am a binary trans woman and my chosen name (which just became my legal name) is now Cora! :D

If I hadn’t had the environment that each of you helps daily to create, I’m not sure when or if I could have made such a big realization about myself and change in my identity. I will forever fight for other’s right to exist/identify outside the binary, whether temporarily like myself or permanently like so many others!

It makes me so happy to know that other trans people will have these opportunities to explore themselves sooner than I did and won’t waste so much of their lives trying to be something for anyone but themselves. Speaking of which, I am happy to say that I am still in a diamoric relationship! My fiancé, who identified as a cis woman when this process began, has since come to realize that they identify as a nonbinary demigirl! It never ceases to amaze me how queer and trans people gravitate together, even before we realize who we are ourselves!

This community belongs to y’all, and so I’d like to end this post by asking for your responses to a question: Do you want me to continue on as a mod here, despite the fact that I am no longer personally nonbinary?

I don’t want to go outside my lane and will not have my feelings hurt if the vote is no, and I will try to always take a back seat in discussions of enby identities if the vote is yes. Either way, it has been a great experience that I will always be thankful for!

Thus, the baggage which the radical feminist theory of biology and repression carries with it is a tragic nihilistic determinism which naturalizes political divisions and leaves us without any clear path forward. Is it any wonder that contemporary radical feminist activism has failed to make systemic and structural change and has instead settled for policing the identities and expressions of trans women and sex workers? What else could this theory hope to produce?

On the other hand, if biology, sex, and anatomy are not the source of patriarchy; if they, in fact, take on meaning and become mapped out as discrete modes of categorization as a result of patriarchal oppression, then we have a way forward. If this conception of the relationship between biology and oppression is true, then we can overcome patriarchal oppression through systemic and structural political struggle against men as a class and against the material social conditions which create the exploitation of women, and retroactively apply social meaning to biology and anatomy as a justification for the exploitation of women.

If the radical feminist theory of biology leads to a sort of deterministic nihilism, this materialist account, in contrast, leads to a hopeful politics with the ability to create structural change, and to abolish and overthrow the conditions which produce the very notions of male and female. Perhaps you are willing to settle for deterministic nihilism, but for myself and most the feminists radicals I know, this is not an option. The baggage of the radical feminist position is simply too heavy and too cumbersome to be worth endorsing.”
