Just found out about ita bags, and I have to say, I'm mad I didn't know they existed before yesterday. I have lost some of the best enamel and button pins of all time (most handmade by homies I don't know how to contact again)
I have now ordered myself a cute lil coffin backpack after painstakingly checking every single review and weighing the pros/cons, alongside 100 locking enamel pin backs.
Should I lose a pin now, it is entirely up to the moss whether or not I was meant to be graced with whatever art may have been once in the bag.
I shall report back when it arrives, and post the different pin mood boards (it comes with several different colours of inserts for different vibes and occasions). Hopefully it shall be a way to reduce any further pin losses and make way for them traveling with me instead of being tucked away in a drawer of my trinket box.
I have finally acquired my bag and locking pin backs, and honestly I already vibe with it
I'm not really loving the size, it feels particularly large compared to the mini bags I typically carry, buuuuut it should reduce lost pins by 99.9%
The black insert is for everyday occasions, the purple for shows/concerts/events, and the red is all my excess enamel pins.
Button pins will be sparingly added as they already have their own display board in my room that is borderline overflowing, any standout choices will go on one of the two main bag boards in due time
we’re really at that point in the year where no one cares about anything huh
My psych professor mentioned swaddling in lecture so I emailed him a picture of me being swaddled in my dorm room and asked if I could get extra credit because it was really hot in there and I got really sweaty and he was like “fabulous, sure”
I’m going to miss the Honors Advisor from my university.
This is definitely my favorite email i’ve recieved from a professor, with the subject line “back at it”.
one of my all-time favorite emails
Do you remember the episode of Spongebob where he's training gary for the snail race and does a coach persona + calls gary a girl and has an aside where he's like "I called you a lady to demean you 🤓" and right after he says that it cuts to sandy and she somehow telepathically feels that Spongebob just did something misogynistic and us like I feel like I need to kick Spongebobs ass for some reason. And then she appears just at the end of the episode to kick his ass.
These tags keep making me laugh

FILBRICK PINES I AM STEALING YOUR SON. AND THE OTHER ONE TOO SO THEY DON'T GET LONELY. AND THE FUCKING POSSUM.
"enjoy it while it lasts" (undercuts itself, needlessly doomerish, foreboding)
"enjoy it!" (straight to the point, actually encourages enjoying it)
I want you all to imagine with me, if you will, what I witnessed today.
McDonalds parking lot. teenage boy. giant polished white ford Tundra. windows down. blasting. I mean BLASTING. Beethoven's moonlight sonata. boy demolishing burger.

it literally doesn’t matter if you’re in your 20s or 30s or 40s or 50s or 60s or 70s or 80s or fucking 90s. if you’re still alive, you literally still have that chance in your hands. don’t let your mind or anyone or anything trick you into thinking otherwise!!!!
whose dumb ass idiot fuck idea was it to make medicine cost money
i was looking for references of fat people and how the fat sits/moves in different poses, and something i came across often was "just reference yourself"… do people think only fat people are allowed to draw fat characters?
"why are your sonas fat if youre not fat" because 1 fat is beautiful and i love drawing fat even if i dont personally have it and 2 i actually do need to gain weight i am hella malnourished
There’s a petition to ban smart glasses in the uk, if you live in the uk please sign!
The government should immediately ban the sale and promotion of glasses that contain recording capability. The government should explore usi
common advice for social anxiety is to tell yourself "people aren't going to think less of you just because you said something a bit daft" but the thing is. sometimes they will. and you just have to learn to be cool with that and to treat it as a dnd random encounter rather than letting it ruin your whole day
recent example. lady at my careers appointment had a post-it with her name on it stuck to the monitor, so i introduced myself by saying "hello, i'm eliot! you must be [name], it's nice to meet you!" and she stared at me as if i was the stupidest person alive and said icily, "yeah, i'm [name]. congratulations, you can read."
in bygone times this would have reduced me to a sort of quivering blancmange. thankfully i am now in a place where i was able to pull back, calmly evaluate this interaction, and say to myself "this woman should probably not be working in a customer-facing job"
important additions!!!!
Reading a cosplay book I scooped up from the library, because I wanted to review it for my cosplay blog. It is quickly approaching DNF territory, and I am only pressing on so that I can give an accurate review with a fully-formed opinion.
The topic is casual cosplay, and putting together character-inspired outfits for regular day wear. I grabbed it from the library because I THOUGHT it might go into detail about silhouette, color blocking, and tips for translating animated designs into real-world clothing. Instead, it's pretty much just a Disneybounding lookbook, almost exclusively using models who are skinny white cis women (as far as I can tell based on the models' supplied social media handles). Thus far I have seen exactly one woman of color, and zero fat people. There has been one white man, and, as far as I can tell, zero nonbinary people of any race or presentation.
All the looks thus far are focused on femme women, which wouldn't be an issue if it weren't for the fact that it, 1) wasn't billed as a book about women's fashion, it was billed as a cosplay guide for anyone to use, and, 2) the author seems to be assuming that her audience is made of entirely of femme cis women who like wearing skirts. This author's idea of what makes a "masculine" outfit is a fucking joke. A skinny blonde cis woman in a ruffled off-the-shoulder crop top and low-rise jeans being called "masc" is testing my resolve to finish reading this mess. I don't think this author has ever seen a butch in her life.
Over half the book has been Disney focused, and I've just realized that the back half is almost exclusively Harry Potter. Like. This book came out in 2021, well after JRK got onto her TERF poison. You have no excuse. Ugh.
And if all of that isn't pissing me off enough, the author gives the constant advice to "buy cheap stuff on Shein!" Like, literally name-dropping Shein and multiple other fast-fashion dropshipping platforms.
This book sucks. It may say it's a guide to casual cosplay, but really it's a guide for skinny femmes to find fast fashion apps that will sell them something that looks vaguely like a Disney princess if you squint.
#grosssss#op maybe you need to write the book you thought it might be#maybe time for a kickstarter?
Listennnn, I have read multiple shitty cosplay books over the past month and I was literally just talking to my housemates about how, if I had an unlimited budget, I would pay HEAPS of money to all my nerdy fat trans butch friends who sew in order to collaborate on a book of our own. I'm not confident enough in my sewing skills to write tutorials about things like alterations, upsizing prefab patterns, or drafting customs based on your personal measurements, but aaaaaaaaaaaaugh, I DREAM of a cosplay book written for people who are fat, poor, and can't drop a trillion dollars on a new Shein wardrobe every three months.
