Painted cyclops, this one was a struggle ngl, I more or less started over from scratch halfway through as I was really struggling with it. But I'm really glad I did because I'm so happy with how it turned out now!

In the original sketch I made his head way to wide on top, which just got worse once I added hair. It took me putting it down and coming back the next day to realize how fucked it looked. I first tried to see if I just just warp what I had to look better, but that still didn't look right. So then I tried drawing the head again, intending to keep the body. But that just grew into me fully starting from scratch except for the color pallet.

The background and text thankfully went smoothly, had fun messing with brushes and the text tool.

After I then duplicated the image file in procreate and resampled the new file to be 1080p instead of the original 5100p. I suggest doing this as it makes it harder for others to steal it for print, while still looking good on screens.

I do plan to make prints of this. If you want to be updated when I make those I'd recommend leaving a comment.

What a fluffy guy, the versions of Beast in the cartoons are definitely my favorite. Comics beast on the other hand has pulled some shit lol. Interesting character but still.

“ your account is limited please kindly verify at (scam link)” - verification scam

Someone on Reddit reported there's apparently a more insidious commissions scam going around where they don't just open up with offering commissions, they spend a lot of time talking to you about your fic before hitting you with the commission part. (I assume they're using AI to have that conversation with you.) So, be cautious out there.

Really annoyed by all the scam bota coming out of the woodwork in the comments of my recent artwork.

Like dudes I'm not 6yrs old, I've been an artist online since 2014, I'm not gonna fall for your fishing scams.

Also psa to young artist:

Don't give out personal info to people online, if someone is asking for more info then needed to comission you don't give it to them.

Maintain your boundaries, I know the idea of getting paid for your work is amazing, but it's not worth budging on your boundaries. Your boundaries keep you safe online don't let people push you to do things you don't want.

Have a terms of service document/contract, this will make sure everyone is on the same page, and protect you and them.

DO NOT GIVE OUT PERSONAL INFO I said it already, but people do not need your info to commission you.

I give you a pause in my regularly scheduled xmen fanart to give you "ominous vending machine in the woods".

This idea has been sitting in my brain for a few years ever since I played Sevens Scarlet and saw the amazing background art by Takahashi Koya. But I only now got around to actually painting it. I was sitting in a meeting during a PD day at the school I've been teaching at and figured why not start. (The meeting didn't pertain to me as I teach an elective, not common core)

A companion piece to the one of cyclops, will also eventually be made into a mini print.

This one was an adventure, near the start of it I realized if I wanted it to truly match Scott's I'd have to draw it small then resize to make sure the brush textures still matched. So I drew it small first then expanded it to match the others dimensions.
