Peter Parker is alone. Due to Stephen's spell, everyone who knew Peter forgot him but somehow know who Spider-Man is. He wasn't entirely sure how that worked, but now he could investigate his blind-but-maybe-not lawyer Matt Murdock. He knew that was wrong because Matt can't remember who he is, but what he doesn't know won't hurt him. Peter had independence now, and he wants to know what it means to really be Spider-Man.
