Can I just say, as a mostly homebound disabled person, that the people who keep making post saying how if you don't do activism irl you aren't doing anything at all, or that make it sound like not doing irl activism means you don't actually care, are being fucking ableist. And I've seen other disabled people do this too. Just cause you can go to protests, meetings, or other irl stuff, or your neighbors are safe to talk to, or you can afford to donate money doesn't mean everyone can.
Sharing verified/researched information online and getting myself more educated on stuff like politics, or history, or activist movements is about all I can manage, along with things like signing petitions and emailing my representatives. I do what I am capable of when I am capable.
A lot of you sound like you would feed me to the fucking fascists yourselves just so you can keep your perception of being the Correct Kind of activist.
This isn't even getting into the people who think everyone in red states should be left to fucking die in natural disasters. Not all of us are fucking republicans. Or what about the children that would die? Or people who can't vote? If you have to dehumanize (or ignore the existence of) people to get your point across, idk maybe your point is bad. Maybe you shouldn't be stereotyping entire states or methods of action like people are a monolith.
I got my new power wheelchair yesterday. I went out today with it to a local video game store, and it did decently well. It doesn't hold its charge as much as my old wheelchair did, so that's good to know. I do like it, but I'm probably still going to get an exact replacement after saving up. Btw at the game store, we got Xenoblade chronicles x definitive edition, 10 animal crossing amibo cards, and a Bridetta (Birdo) plush for my wife! She finds kinship with Bridetta because they are both trans women!
I'll post pictures of it later and maybe pictures of my old one to compare them.
I'm waiting for a new power wheelchair to come. I went out to a trans pride event that claimed it was accessible, but it wasn't and put a lot of stress on my wheelchair and it broke later that day. I had to buy a replacement that is different from what I'm used to because I don't have the money or time to wait for the same type I had. I am basically home bound without a power wheelchair. We had to set it up to make monthly payments for it so that's just great. But hopefully it does well enough to help me out until we can get my preferred wheelchair. It's supposed to come in tomorrow, so here's hoping everything goes well with it! 🤞
P.s. If your pride event isn't accessible, don't advertise it as such!!
Happy Disability Pride month!

The first 4 pictures are from my honeymoon to Disney World with my wife. We both love toy story, but I'm obsessed with it because Buzz lightyear is my comfort character! As a trans man, he is the character that brings me to a childhood I was never able to have. I want to cosplay him while my wife cosplays Jessie. I love Buzz and Jessie's relationship and how it grew throughout the movies. My wife is also trans so the common t4t thing of tall trans woman and short trans man is definitely us, so the fact that Jessie is tall and Buzz is short fits us so well. Tbh I think that Buzz being short might also be why he's my comfort character!
