I'm sorry and I know that this is gonna sound like I'm insulting the Church but I lowkenuenly believe that the orthodoxy of the Catholic Church has been carried on the backs of autistic people, at least partially so.

I say this by experience cause like. I went to the priest for him to bless and impose my scapular and he just. blessed it without imposing it and I'm like I gotta go to a priest again! Everyone else in my family said that it's not that serious and I didn't need to go again and I was just like: ????

i think there’s a beauty to be found in ordinary time

we often see ordinary time as “boring” as opposed to lent or easter

but during ordinary time, Jesus, the son of God, was doing normal things just like what you and me do

Did he talk walks and with joke with his disciples between preaching? Did he ever visit Our Lady and check up on her? Did he cook with his disciples and pray with them?

the trick to being a good Christian is to see everybody/everything asa little piece of god. hugging my boyfriends cat right now and all I can think when I bury my head in his purring tummy is "there's a little bit of god in there. this is what being close to god feels like is being close to love and this cat is full of it"

when we wash our hair, when we cry into our coffee, when we think of a joke while standing alone in a queue... he's right there, washing our feet, crying with us, laughing with us...

he witnesses our lives, with their highs and lows and weirdness and all their glory, and loves us so deeply, more than we could ever know.

can you imagine seeing Jesus smile? can you imagine the puff of air that would escape His nose when someone said something a little bit funny?? can you imagine watching Him tie His sandals??? Him brushing your shoulder by accident as you walk by???? falling to your knees cause you just touched God????? Him crouching down to face you and giving you the most loving look you've ever seen in your life?????? the way His voice would have sounded calling you by name???????! hearing God use His vocal cords and the air from His lungs and knowledge of the language He learned growing up to produce a sentence calling you by name?????!?!??!?!

His clothes feel just like anyone else's as they're made wet and cold with tears. He smells of skin and body odour and dust. His arms have hair. He's warm. you feel the calluses on His hands as they rub your back. your hands slowing come up and place themselves on His spine-

Genuinely have started to fall in love with the symbolism of me being a lamb and God being our shepherd. We are all part of the same flock. We are booping our noses together softly. When one of us gets lost we go to our shepherd and ask him to look for them. Actually sobbing over this
