1865 - 1914 - 1920 - 1964 - 2002
Doctor Rosch Kakkelakka was born in 1796 and made a living as an agricultural scientist. He spliced the fruits and veggies with DNA from animals to create plants that could survive harsh environments.
After a near death experience in the lab, his childhood fear of dying blossomed forth again with immense power. The fear ruled his life. The thought of dying prevented him from living.
He had an idea as a lone cockroach crawled over the floor of his lab. He could splice himself with it just like he had with the plants. He would be stronger, sturdier and never again have to fear dying from a sudden accident.
The procedure was a success. He lived a great life, never again in fear.
Then when his time came, he laid on his deathbed as an old, old man, he closed his eyes... And passed.
But then he woke up. He was young again. He looked just like when he had first spliced himself with the cockroach. Rosch couldn't die.
When he reunited with his wife Ingeborg a new fear blossomed in him. She was just as old as when he'd last seen her. Soon he was by her side as she laid on her deathbed.
Not too long after her funeral, Rosch bought a length of rope and taught himself to tie a knot he would come to tie a hundred times over.
He tried everything to end his suffering. Each and every time he came back. Grew back, assembled, healed, sometimes it felt like waking up from a deep sleep.
He is now 226 years old and he has found that while the body moves on and mends, the mind deteriorates. He has yet to find a way to pass that sticks. The list of ways he's tried keeps getting longer and longer.
