i hate having to like…………….. articulate my ideas
Do people know that in Portuguese “Peralta” is an adjective used to refer to mischievous children who play pranks? Because I feel like people should know that.

this is the very first comment someone added to this post and it’s by far the best one
sorry, professor whats his nuts
you all forgot the most important part
I’m glad we all got closure. This is amazing.
Robin Williams’ last lines.
Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb (2014)
If you don’t have respect for how Robin Williams made the whole world smile even though he was fighting a horrendous battle in the darkest pits of hell, then you don’t deserve my time.
Scientific/psychological fact for you fine Tumblr folks:
Recent studies on depression report that folks diagnosed with depression actually laugh more, laugh louder, and laugh harder than people without depression. People with depression will also spend more time trying to make others laugh, telling jokes, and trying to lighten a mood than people who do not have depression. People with depression tended to be more caring partners, better friends and kinder people than those who were depression free. People with depression actually act the complete opposite of the way you’d think; this is largely why, when people do commit suicide, his or her (or whichever pronoun you like) family and friends “didn’t see it coming” and describe the lost soul as “always happy and smiling”.
So, along with the other symptoms to look out for, take notice of those things. If someone close to you shows all those symptoms, plus the lethargy, apathy, etc, reach out to them.

National Geographic on Facebook: this is a facial reconstruction of a teenage girl who lived 9000 years ago based on her remains!
half the comments: men criticizing her looks and saying she’s unattractive and mannish
anyway this is the reconstruction and I always enjoy seeing the faces of prehistoric humans and how much we have in common over thousands of years despite how incredibly different our lives are. I support her and I think she looks wonderful.
everyone in the replies of this post saying “well I think she’s pretty!” missed the whole damn point lmao
I remember watching a documentary once where historians were trying to work out who a dead girl was and what her life was like. I’m pretty sure they dated the body back to the early Victorian era, and established pretty early on that she lived in poverty, died young, and was most certainly a prostitute.
The grand finale of the show was the reveal of her reconstructed face. Now, bare in mind that through their investigations they discovered that she had lived an awful life and died an agonizing death (syphilis iirc). So, you can imagine my disgust when the historians reacted with disappointment at the reveal of her ‘face’. This poor girl, who had suffered terribly, was obviously not the poor, tragic beauty they had been hoping for.
She was plain, maybe some would say she was ugly, but what was truly hideous was the fact that you could practically see the sympathy these historians had for this poor girl slip away as they looked at her ‘face’, and you could certainly hear it in their voices.
Even in death our value rests on the basis of our looks. Sympathy is conditional - based on where you fall on the looks scale.
Science: *gives us the miracle of seeing long-dead faces*

I was thrilled to pieces when I saw this scene. Disney could have written Gideon off like some bully character who never really amounted to anything, or got what was coming to him like a lot of those characters do in their movies. Gideon made something of himself. He’s a pastry chef, something that’s not traditionally a job for men in media. And as soon as Judy speaks to him, he immediately apologizes to her. He doesn’t try to shrug it off as no big deal, or say that it was just boys being boys or whatever; he knows he hurt her, and he owns up to it. And Judy immediately forgives him.
Well done, Disney.
Also the language that he used is not something that he would have most likely grown up hearing/using. Describing his failings as self-doubt that manifested into “unchecked rage and aggression” sounds SO MUCH like therapy speak. So he’s either gotten counseling to help him with some of his problems, or sought out literature to help himself. A++ disney :)
This movie is a treasure.
when someone you dont like makes a joke about you
cats are so fake like they’re theoretically related to apex predators and yet they weigh 8 pounds, sleep 20 hours a day, and scream if you feed them half an hour later than usual
I deeply sympathize because I also like to sleep an unreasonable amount and yell when hungry.
incidentally, you are also an apex predator
apex predators are over-hyped, we’re all just tired and whiny.
Reblog if you, too, are tired and whiny.
know what’s wild? that the trope of like “my father always wanted a son so he treated me, his daughter, like a boy” is so popular and like lowkey loved, but if you ever saw a mother who talked about how much she wanted a daughter instead of a son, or if she treated her son like a girl, like??? people would think she’s awful and that poor boy??
damn wonder why that is 😒
i was high af when i wrote this but it’s still true
this man, abdul aziz, father of four, was at the new zealand mosque when the shooting happened and had nothing on him but a credit card reader that he picked up to throw at the terrorist. then, after dodging bullets, he hurled an empty gun he found at his windshield and shattered it, scaring him off and preventing many more lives from being taken. that’s an act of pure selflessness—his name deserves to be heard. there’s still good in the world.
things all girls want to do:
• become medusa
• dance naked around a fire in the woods w other ladies
• eat men
• let their eyes roll back in their head and speak in tongues
• eat men
For the record… I want absolutely none of these things. I am a girl.
More people need to see this. We stan a multi talented Irish gay icon
GET IT PETUNIA DURSLEY!!!
listen. theres…….every force in the world telling girls that we arent supposed to be attracted to other girls. everything in my life taught me that wanting another girl was gross UNLESS i wanted them because it would be hot for a man
every force in the universe told me that if i was good enough men would want me, but i had to be good enough first. and if i was, then i should cling to that experience for dear life because it was only a matter of time before they got what they wanted from me and my worth would evaporate.
but when another girl wants you. when a girl wants you she wants you across space and time. she wants you in spite of everything she was ever taught. she wants you from a place in herself that she may never have been brave enough to let into the light. she wants you from a part of herself so pure and raw that theres no room in that feeling for anything she might have done to push it down
wanting another girl is inherently, deeply pure and inherently, deeply vulnerable. and feeling a girl want me that way changed my whole life
if that feeling is a part of u just know that.. like know that it comes from the deepest, purest, most honest part of your soul. if that feeling is a part of you it means that there is a still deep pool inside you somewhere
