If you havent seen the blind box BJD trend, here are some of the products I was thinking of/inspired by

Photos are all from Kikasgoods, a Chinese import platform. The bug BJDs on the left, "Kukaka Insect Cafe Series" are some of the cutest designs I've ever seen and super inspirational to me!

A lot of people keep recommending me the Penny bb centaurs, which, while nice, is a little frustrating because I've cited them as something I've seen before but even if I had the money to spend, I refuse to purchase blind boxes, as I continue to think they're unethical. I think a lot of the designs are great but no, I am not putting my money into gambling.

Do you think you’d keep sculpted hair like the blindbox bjds or go for brushable hair? I’m assuming if sculpted, the braids would have to float away from the neck a little or else they’d interfere with motion (same with tail unless you added a joint for it)

For this concept, at least to match the Blindboxes, I'd go with the sculpted hair. I did have this in mind- the bob around the top is on the head, the braids are on the second neck piece (in theory) A lot of dolls have this mullet style, like the mermaid doll who I took some inspo from:

The braids would probably interfere with the articulation, I think the idea is just to make them hang loose enough to not do so too much? I'm not sure. And yeah I think the tail would have to be movable too (its clipping into the body in one of the photos because i didnt bother to move it lol)

The AJ model is based off this one I was experimenting with a while ago, which just has one neck piece but I wasnt satisfied with that. I want the neck to have multiple joints to be more flexible, but I think the thing with rooted hair on the neck like this is its almost certain to get stuck in the joints...

but I really, really dont like the my little pony toys who only have hair on the head, I think it looks really wrong, so I'd sacrifice some movement on the neck area so I could depict a slightly better (if still human-like) mane.

Blazing (wearing orange or other bright colors visible to other hunters) while hunting actually varies state by state and depends on the type of hunting you're doing.

Given her binoculars and dog (which I believe is an old danish pointer), I think this doll is hunting ducks, turkey, and other birds. Most states don't require blazing when hunting waterfowl, migratory birds, or when hunting with a bow. Some states don't require blazing at all, even when deer hunting with guns.

Almost there! This was NOT an easy one. 15" tall resin cast articulated elastic tension doll aka ball jointed doll ( BJD) These are cast in translucent urethane with different swirling colors and glitters that shine through the surface. @tripdwyr took a digital scan of my handmade sculpture and it was then sliced / further articulated by Kippar on @fiverr , printed/modified by @syntheticephemera - so glad to be able to rely on folks with skillsrts I do not have to make things a little easier. SO GLAD I didn't try to mod this by hand 🥲 Just making the 20 molds for this was a three week process! Picked up a What's Her Face doll recently, and put her on a Createable World body, for the ultimate customizable doll lmao. A normie version of the blank faced Create A Monsters if you will.

I actually had these when I was a kid, and they were super fun, but the markers eventually dried out and I got rid of them. Though a few of their accessories managed to survive in my collection, one of them being her green wig.

Is her blank face a little creepy? Perhaps. Do I kinda love it though? Yes. I like how she's a little spooky.

I had one of these girls as a kid - the one with blue hair and a pink dress. her (smushed) sunglasses lived on in my barbie stuff, but no other trace of her remains. i wish i knew what happened to her - her and my chloe doll from the madeline doll line were given away at some point i guess.
