Phoenix is an incredible person and such a hardworking and kind father that has been through so much. He has been such an important and active member of my local trans community and I am now coming to the internet to ask that you please donate anything you can to his go fund me to secure the downpayment and moving costs for his habitat for humanity home. He has put in so many hours volunteering despite still being a dad and being disabled. Their habitat home is getting closer and closer to being finished, and being on limited income they need help with the downpayment. Once they are in the home, they will not have to ever pay more than 33% of their income for the mortgage and the interest rate is 0%. This means they will not have to worry about homelessness ever again.

Please help me go into remission from Type II diabetes

Hello everyone, I am so sorry to remake this post, but I am very scared. I am experiencing embarassing and vulnerable symptoms- my type II diabetes is becoming progressive, and I am desperate to go into remission. It has affected my liver and my heart, and neuropathy has made me partially incontinent. On April I was hospitalized twice. I have no thyroid, and without medication, it will put me into a myxedema coma and will kill me within days. Hypothyroidism and type II diabetes is making it very difficult for me to find work, as I am from the global south (the Philippines), with government aid only covering 20,000 pesos (around 326 usd) a year. I am the only person in my family who can work; my mother is paralyzed from a brain injury, and my sister is autistic with a very low frustration threshold. I need help covering for my new medication, as I now take metformin twice a day, and phosphates to help with my liver and kidneys, and b complex to help bolster my immune system. Im sorry I keep remaking this post, I am alone and desperate. Community is all I have. Thank you so much for your endless grace and compassion.

1) schizophrenia hardly ever causes people to be violent so schizophrenic people aren’t more likely to be violent than anyone else

2) schizophrenic people’s autonomy is often taken away from them because of their schizophrenia. because the authorities and mental healthcare providers often automatically assume schizophrenic people to be violent, they’re more likely to immediately react to schizophrenic people's symptoms with violence, without even knowing for sure said schizophrenic person was going to be violent. all of this causes schizophrenic people to be more likely of being victims of violence and abuse. schizophrenic people also have a harder time getting out of abusive households because of the risk of their autonomy being taken away. if a schizophrenic person’s relative or partner is abusive, often the schizophrenic person has no way out of the situation, both because our disconnect from reality can result in us being easier to manipulate, and because the system is built in a way that it takes away our autonomy because of our condition.

I recently went to a place that required you to be scanned to see if you had any hidden weapons. My binder set the scanner off (probably because of the metal zippers in the sides) and someone had to come over and feel me down to see if I was hiding anything. A guy was chosen because I look like a guy, and they typically try to get someone of the same sex to feel you down.

When the guy was feeling my chest, he suddenly looked shocked, and said, rather loudly, "Are you a female??" And I didn't want to explain my situation with intersexuality and gender, for fear of discrimination, so I just lied and said, "Yeah, pretty much." Then, the guy swapped places with a lady who then did the rest of the examination. When the lady saw me, she said "Jesus Christ," at me, as if I had done something wrong by looking the way I do. She looked at me in utter disgust the whole time. Thankfully they didn't feel anywhere else but my chest and sides, and they let me go immediately after, but that situation was pretty disressing to me.

And this whole thing didn't happen because of my ambiguous genitals or my internal reproductive organs or my mystery chromosomes. It happened purely because of my gynecomastia. They deemed me female solely because of my chest. If having breasts can sway someone else's opinion on your sex so quickly and so entirely, don't you think that trait should be considered intersex in and of itself?

I get really easily overwhelmed, and even if I am able to mask it, it requires hours and often days of recovery which often gets interrupted by school. I can’t do many extracurriculars outside of school hours, because the schedule ends up being too much. I can’t go to a lot of big events, because being around people is so exhausting. Autistic social anxiety is not "social anxiety" in the typical sense. An anxiety disorder is defined as an "irrational fear". So for example, imagine someone who is afraid to speak in case everyone looks at them and goes "what the heck are you saying you wierdo." If that person is neurotypical, then the chances are that they're very unlikely to get that response. Therefore their fears are irrational, and that is true "social anxiety". If you put an autistic person in that scenario, on the other hand, then probably the reason they're afraid of that response is because they've received it many times before. They're fear is based on repeated past experiences, therefore it is not irrational and not the simply an anxiety disorder. That's why people giving the classic social anxiety responses to autistic people is so unhelpful. "Just go out there and talk to people, it'll be fine," or "keep pushing yourself out of your comfort zone and you'll get more confident," don't work if the problem is real and not just in your head.
