“So you’re not calling it after me?” Connie smirked, taking another shot.
“Mmmm as much as I love you, I don’t think he’d go for naming out child after my party girl best friend.” She laughed. “Than again, this is partly your fault. If you hadn’t ditched me that night for what’s his face I wouldn’t have ended up going home with him.”
Finding our step || Dora x Mason
masoncarr:
“Wow, wow wow,” Mason spoke before he could even gather his thoughts, his bag hitting the ground as his hands went up as if wanting to stop time itself. His eyes were wide with shock, fear making the hairs on the back of his neck stand upright as he looked at her on the arm chair, the arm chair he wouldn’t give two tosses about anyone else standing on, the arm chair that suddenly felt like the unsafest thing he owned. “Thea, what are you doing?” he asked in a panicked tone, carefully making his way over towards her.
In the back of his mind he noticed the decorations, the way his flat felt more like home than it had in years, the efforts she must have gone to. But that didn’t matter right now, all that mattered was that she got down safely. It was one of those moments, the type you could always look back on and remember. But it wasn’t realisation, it wasn’t happiness. He didn’t care that in that moment he knew damn well he’d never love anything as much as he loved her and their unborn child, he didn’t care that he had never felt panic like that before, he didn’t even care that he might get killed for not commenting on the work she had put in. All he cared about was getting her down.
Finally making his way over to her, after what felt like a lifetime, he reached out for her hand to bring her back down to the ground, a stern look on his face that looked odd on his usually carefree features. “Come on down, please,” he practically pleaded.
Thea rolled her eyes, a smile playing her lips at his concern. Even in the moments he wasn’t trying to win her over he was winning her over. She shook her head. “Nooo, I’m almost done and you weren’t supposed to be home yet!” She pouted as she tried to finish the decoration she was doing. “Just one more...” She strained before it was to her liking. “There! Now, help me down.”
Thea said matter of factually as she took his hand to get down. “You ruined the surprise and haven’t even said anything about it.” She chided as she moved away from him to get the book, a little wobble in her step from her stomach. Their baby girl was getting bigger by the day and so was she. “How was work?” She asked as she picked up his gym bag and headed toward the laundry room with it. She’d gotten down a routine of taking care of his cloths after work for him.

edwinfawley:
“Go,” he practically sighed, his mind stuck on what on earth they were going to do now. “But we’re going to have to talk about what happens when this child is born at some point.”
“Yeah. Sure whatever.” She said waving him off as she left the room.
constancehollingsworth:
“Your brother couldn’t hurt me,” she smirked, downing another two shots on the bounce. “Woo!” she yelled, grinning across at her friend. “Honestly seeeerious talk now, what are you naming it?”
“We...haven’t decided yet.” Dora smiled a bit. “We actually haven’t talked about it yet.”
kitcarr:
Kit squinted slightly in anger. She let out a breath through her nose. “He’s my brother, it has to do with me for that sole reason. If you’re toying with him, I swear…” she trailed off. “I won’t let anything happen to him, even if it involves you.”
Dorothea rolled her eyes at the girl, tying it together. “Oh yes, completely toying with him. Because being pregnant is a game to play.” She said as she turned back around.
So you know || Edwin & Dorothea
edwinfawley:
“Don’t tempt me,” he glared, pointing his finger at her as if she were a small child caught with her hand in the cookie jar. “No, but if that twat had anything to do with this…”
“That twat? If you mean Mason. No.” Her voice turned toward anger again. “I haven’t seen him in years thanks to you. Like I said, I don’t know who the father is. Now if you will excuse me I’m going to change.” Dorothea rarely lied so boldly to her brother. Small white lies were one thing but hiding her pregnancy and now admittedly denying the who the father was were the largest lies she had ever told him. It didn’t feel great but she couldn’t tell him.

So you know || Edwin & Dorothea
edwinfawley:
“Oh please, if they were here you’d already be kicked out of the house,” he practically spat, torn as he knew that was exactly what he should be doing too. “You need to grow up, you need to mature a hell of a lot more, if not for yourself than for this child of yours. You can’t keep going around making a mess of your life Dorothea.”
“My life is not a mess.” She spat back, grabbing her bag up off the floor. “Are you kicking me out or not?” Dora snapped, knowing that was in fact a possibility. But in that moment she didn’t care, she knew he wouldn’t not yet at least. He tried to act like their father but the truth was he had more heart than that, even if it was simple because she was all he had left.
So you know || Edwin & Dorothea
edwinfawley:
“Don’t you dare try that with me,” he growled, his eyes shining with anger as his nostrils flared. “You are a child. You are a mess! You’re pregnant with a child you didn’t plan, a child you don’t even know who the father is! You are not some mature being here, you are a disaster! You know damn well mother and father would have disowned you for this!”
“I am not a child! I’m 26 and I can make my own decisions. You’re are not my father, you don’t get to treat me like you own me.” She snapped back. “It’s a good thing they aren’t here then anymore huh? But maybe if they were I wouldn’t be your problem to take care of anyway.”
Finding our step || Dora x Mason
Dorothea had been at Masons since the day after the presidents ball. Edwin had lost it when he had caught them in the court yard together. The argument there after had resulted in a few broken objects, words they probably didn’t mean and Dora packing her things and leaving. She’d showed up at Mason’s door, no where else to go but to him. Of course he let her stay, a few disagreements as to who was sleeping where and who got to use the shower first.
It may have seemed dumb and stubborn but Dorothea still wanted to keep things distant between them. She didn’t want to be a couple. She couldn’t handle the thought of what Edwin would do if they really did end up together, she really would lose any chance of getting her brother back.
But Mason....Mason made it so hard to stick to her guns on not falling back in love with him. He did everything, EVERYTHING right. He came to her appointments, brought her flowers, was patient when she wasn’t. It took about three weeks before a bad dream had her waddling out to the couch and tugging him to bed with her. After that they’d shared a bed every night.
She’d started nesting, cleaning the house, cooking dinner, baking things. It was what she had been raised to do if they were honest. She was raised to be a house wife, hormones just made it more. She liked to blame the hormones when it came to things like rearranging the living room while Mason was at work. Or giving into how damn much she wanted him when he’d come home from work one day looking far better than what should be legally allowed. After that it was hard to pretend they weren’t becoming something. Slowly she started to let go of the fight and embrace the idea of actually getting to be with the father of her child. Dorothea had decorated for Christmas while Mason was at work, when he got home they were meant to go to the winter festival. She was standing on the arm chair trying to put the last bit of garland up around thei--his bedroom door when he came in. She turned her head to look at him, wobbling a bit as she did. “You’re early! Noooo no no no. I’m not done. Go back outside!!” @masoncarr
kitcarr:
Kit crossed her arms to match the girls. “The youngest one,” she replied. “You’re not his girlfriend? Okay. So what happens when the baby comes?”
“I don’t see how our relationship has anything to do with you.” Her words were laced with vinegar. Some nerve this girl had in being so nosy.
So you know || Edwin & Dorothea
edwinfawley:
“You were- you don’t- Damn it Dorothea!” he yelled, throwing a nearby vase into the bookshelf and only pausing to breathe as it shattered with a loud crash. “You need to grow up. You can’t be a spoilt little child any longer, now you’ve gone and fucked up worse than ever before. A child Dora. You’re going to have a child!”
Dora flinched as the vase flew and shattered. She hadn’t seen him this angry in years. Usually their angry fed each others, this was no different. “Yes, Edwin. I am. I’m having a baby. I grown ass woman. Is that problem?! Shit happens, I’m figuring it out. Don’t you tell me I’m acting like a child when you’re the one throwing things like an upset three year old!”
Accidental Debut || Mason x Dorothea

“Hey, man, back off,” Mason stepped forwards, hands up in the hopes of getting the guy to calm down. But as he got closer he saw the other man’s grip tighten and his glare flickering towards him instead.
Barely holding back a snarl, Edwin tugged his sister towards him with a vicious glare at the man. “This is between my sister and I, halfblood. I’ll deal with you later,” and with that he tugged Dora towards an apparation point.
Dorothea tried to pull away with no success, being pulled away from the man she’d been with. She looked back over her should at him with an apologetic look and tears welling up in her eyes. But before she could say anything they were gone. Back to the dark cold house she and her brother shared. And she’d never been more afraid to be alone with him.

“You know, I think you’ve got the wrong impression of me,” he spoke softly, teasing her ever so lightly. “I’ve always been pretty damn excited about our kid, Thea.”
He had been watching them carefully, already suspecting his sister had been lying to him about the father of her child, but he needed proof, and there it was. His anger was back and it was all he could do not to just punch the pathetic excuse of a man right there and then. But still he stormed forwards, his hand gripping tightly around Dorothea’s wrist as he pulled her from the man’s hold with a snarl. “’Our kid?’”
Dorothea laughed softly at his reply, looking away from him. She looked back up to reply when Edwins voice hit her ears and she was physically pulled away from him. Her body went ice cold instantly, face pale white at his accusation. She stumbled back, tugging her wrist to not avail from her brother. “Let me go Edwin.”

masoncarr:
“Afterwards?” he repeated, trying not to show how disheartened he was at the idea of not being there with her, having thought they had made so much progress. “I- yeah that’d work. Or, I mean, I could uh, I could take you if you want, I mean, I could wait outside if you want, I just. Afterwards is fine too…”
“I don’t need a chauffeur Mason.” She rolled her eyes at the idea. “Like I said, it’s a two at Caldurons. Meet me or not, up to you.” She said as she found her old coldness coming back. She was happy it wasn’t tears for once. “I need to beat him home. Good bye Mason.”
So you know || Edwin & Dorothea
edwinfawley:
“An accident?” he repeated, eyes flaring with anger. “An accident is running over the neighbours cat or getting full cream milk instead of soy, not getting fucking pregnant! Who helped you with this fucking accident then, huh? It better not be that fucking halfblood twit.”
Anger sparked, her temper never her friend as it often flared without her control. “Don’t you dare bring him up!” She snapped. “It was a one nighter, I was drunk, I don’t know who the father is okay?”
