my name's noelle, i'm a trans woman, and i'm currently experiencing just how much of a bitch it can be. about two months ago, i had to quit my job due to chronic pain and mental health struggles that left me suicidal. a while after that, i started experiencing extreme abdominal pain that landed me in the ER, resulting in a nearly thousand dollar bill and no diagnosis. although the abdominal pain went away, my body remains in constant pain after any physical activity. even an hour of walking and standing causes flare ups that leave me mostly housebound for days.

i'm currently looking for a job, but even once i get one, i doubt i'll be able to work enough to save any money. between gas, car insurance, medical bills, medication, and testing, i'm not even sure i'll be able to break even. i currently have 565 dollars in my bank account, and i need to pay for HRT soon. not long after that, i'll need to pay for gas and car insurance, which will leave me with less than 250 dollars. car insurance is 250, so i'm basically fucked once that happens.

i'm lucky to have my HRT covered by my insurance, so it's only 30 dollars. if i could get even enough to pay for that, it'd be a huge deal. any further donations would go towards the essentials listed above. my current goal is to put aside enough money to buy a rollator, because my cane is currently not doing enough for me, and i go back to college next month, which means a lot of walking. if y'all could help me make progress towards that goal, even if it's a dollar or two, i'd be incredibly grateful.

I really enjoy the recent trend of transfem Spider-Woman art - I like seeing any canonically male character as a trans woman - but there's a little painful sting to the way that so much of it plays the same joke about JJJ: he's totally fine with trans women, he just has something against this one woman in particular.

Because that's exactly how it is being a trans woman. His employee who he walks all over, he's fine with her. The fighter, the vigilante, the activist - she's a menace, because he can only see violence and crime in her, no matter what she does. If Spider-Woman is transfem, then JJJ isn't really funny or novel at all, because that's already how the media talks about us.

(Often there's a line thrown in about how she's "tarnishing the trans community" or some suspicion that she has an ulterior motive, and this is passed as a joke, but that's something trans women do hear. "Cis guy who insists he's not transphobic but also claims to be really concerned about this one trans woman Hurting The Community" is an ollllld and established means by which transfems are ostracised (from broader trans/queer communities) when a person in privilege decides he wants us out.)

I get it, I get the comedic intent, but I can't enjoy it that much because when this is aimed at a trans woman instead of a cis guy it's too real and I get the sense that a lot of this art is written without realising just how accurate it is.

I don't know. It's a stark reminder that most people don't have that much of an idea what transmisogyny looks like - haven't had to learn how to notice it. I love every bit of girl-Parker art I see, but as with so many things, the knowledge of reality does sit uncomfortably close sometimes.

2. Femboy is a slur specifically targeted at trans women, the successor to “trap”. TME people using it is comparable to white people calling themselves “Wigga” 😭

Tbh I think a lot of my frustration with reactionaries esp in regards to abuse/rape/CSA is like

I have literally been functionally enslaved, had my life destroyed repeatedly, have been raped/abused (predominantly by whites and men/transmascs) more times than I can count, and I still deeply believe in a possible world where every individual human has the same basic human rights to live and survive regardless of what they’ve done.

I may make jokes about killing those who have abused/harmed me, or in my deeper stints of Madness wish for it in an expression of my grief and anger, but I don’t even want my fucking enslaver dead, I want her better and not near me and never again in a position to do it or similar to anyone else.

And then I look at so many of you festering souls that jump at any chance to unleash pain on others, any chance to harm someone in a way you view as “justly”, any chance to ensure you have a way to enforce personal power without being “the bad ones.”

Sacrificing others will not keep death from coming for you too. You need to sit the fuck down and start examining your reactionary urges because it’s already too fucking late and y’all are playing catch-up. You better start running now before that giant-ass boulder finds you.
