FLORENCE PUGH as ALICE Don’t Worry Darling dir. Olivia Wilde (2022)
So we went to see the new horror movie Barbarian. The trailers looked so good and everything we had to go see it. and I can honestly say it was very good!!
now before I'm going to try and not give away too much but there maybe Spoilers Ahead!!
but yeah the movie is excellent! it grabs hold of you an doesn't really let go until the very end. its told in like kinda 4 different parts that all connect together. the first Quarter of the movie is where things are kinda set up where we meet Tess (Georgina Campbell) who comes to town for a job interview so she had rented this Air BNB for the weekend in this kinda shady area of Detroit and when she gets there she finds someone else staying there who rented it for the same time by the name of Keith (Bill Skarsgård) its a very creepy and scary situation. he invites her in and they work things out and actually hit it off. the next morning they go and do their separate things and when she gets back to the house she find the hidden area under the house and that is when all the spooky stuff really starts and it's kind of intense the way its filmed and the music and sound design and everything is just pure horror and its so good to the point that you don't want to look but you can't turn away Keith returns back and she wants to leave but he wants to see this hidden area so he goes and investigates and disappears and she goes looking for him and that is where they come face to face with the "creature" I don't know if I would call her an actual "creature" at least not in the traditional sense anyway but I will for this and then the movie cuts to black and just to the second part.
in this second part we meet the character of AJ (Justin Long) who is the current owner of the house. He is kinda oblivious at first to what is going on and a real douchebag for the majority of the movie and ends up needing to sell the house to pay for some legal troubles he is having and goes and checks on it and finds that there are ppl staying there that shouldn't be so he endeds up finding the underground parts and Tess and the "creature" and during this you get a bit of the backstory and he and Tess make their escape after AJ finds the original owner still alive in the caverns which leads to the 3rd part of the movie
where it is more like a flashback that takes place in the 80s with the original owner of the house when he was somewhat younger and kinda explains what is going on in the house for the most part and it is horrifying.
then for the final quarter of the movie it goes back to present day and Tess escapes and goes to get help being AJ is still trapped inside when she brings the cops they are like totally useless and treat her like some crazy person and refuse to help her so she goes in to rescue AJ and they have a final showdown with the creature.
So the movie itself is excellent the acting is very well done the way its filmed, the atmosphere, the production and sound design and even the music is all horrifying! the movie as a whole is creepily terrifying to say the lease! like I said it gets you from the very beginning and doesn't let go!
I highly recommend going to see it the only thing I don't understand about it is why is it called "Barbarian"? to me it seems like a odd name for the movie but I guess there is a reason for it anyway yeah I would recommend it.

I love that Love and Thunder completely ignored toxic masculinity and acknowledged that Thor was dealing with some really heavy shit and that it’s okay for men to admit to/release their emotions, that it’s okay for them to be broken and lost because anyone would feel that. Just one of the reasons this movie was an absolute gem.
Uncoupled was really cute. It was just fun to watch.
I almost never binge things anymore but I just instinctively pressed next every time.
