A day in the (un-) life of The Vengeful Reaper. (Part 1)
Ah, morning. The start of a new day.
But in the Slender Mansion? One cannot even call it a "new day".
More like:The start of another day in hell.
And for one undead killer, he couldn't hate it anymore than he already does.
The alarm clock went off, that annoying beeping sound that nobody likes hearing.
Reaper slowly opened his eyes, the sound was loud enough to wake even a dead man like him. He rubbed his eyes and stretched, his bones popping a bit for how stiffed he was.
"And here we go again..." He muttered, his tone still sounding a bit raspy for how tired he was.
He got out of bed, throwing the covers off of him and made his way to his closet.
Well, not really a closet, more like a small part of his room with a rack for hanging clothes.
He picked through them, seeing which one he wanted to wear for the day. (Even though he'll be wearing his grim reaper robe 70% of the day like usual.) After debating what to wear, he grabbed a plain gray shirt and some thin black pants. He wanted to at least shower just to eliminate the foul smell of death that clung to him.
Not that he could help it, but he at least cared a little bit about self-care. Though, with him being undead, and the fact he lives here at the mansion, at was almost impossible for him to even maintain proper care at all.
He grabbed his skull mask and grim reaper robe, something he always did before he would leave his bedroom just to hide his appearance underneath. He never wanted anyone to know what he looked like without it, and frankly, he hoped they never will. Especially Slenderman.
He knew that almost everyone wouldn't be awake yet. (Aside from Tim, Brian, Toby, Kate and Jeff.) But, considering he was usually the first to take a shower in the morning, this was easier for him.
He put his mask on and adjusted the strap in the back, making sure his hair wasn't caught in it. Despite how messy his hair is from how he was laying in bed.
He crept slowly towards his door, unlocking both the top lock and the bottom lock as quietly as possible.
He peeked out a bit, making sure nobody was by the bathroom, which was a bit far from his bedroom, considering he wanted a room that was far from everyone else in order to isolate himself.
He waited for a few minutes just for good measure, then he slowly opened his door and began to tip-toe by the bedrooms. Passing by BEN's room, Toby's room and Nina's room.
He made it, making sure nobody saw him before opening the door and sneaking inside, slowly shutting the bathroom door and locking it.
Reaper had finished taking a shower, drying himself off while his mask and fresh clothes were laying on the counter, ready for him to grab. His robe was hanging neatly on a town rack for him to grab whenever he was ready to come downstairs.
"Okay, get myself dried and then dressed and then I have to go downstairs and prepare to deal with them again..." He groaned a bit, he always dreaded being near the other residents and he hated it more whenever he was sent on a mission with them. Especially Jeff the killer.
After he finished drying, he brushed his teeth, grabbed his fresh clothes and got dressed. After he finished putting on his new clothes, he grabbed his mask and his robe and put them on, adjusting his hair in the back and fixed the strap. Then he slipped his robe over him, adjusting the black hood and tucking his hair inside, putting the hood of the grim reaper robe on his head and walked out.
He brought his old clothes back to his room and tossed them onto his bed, he'll take care of them later.
As he walked back out of his room, he saw Toby coming out of his bedroom. Looking like he had just woken up. Little bits of facial hair around his chin looked uneven, like he didn't properly shave. Even a bit of acne was seen on his face due to a lack of proper care.
Toby:yawning "Oh, good m-m-morning, Reap." Toby said groggily, his eyes half-way opened. He wasn't surprised to see Reaper up and ready, Reaper had been living at the mansion for almost a year.
Reaper wasn't fond of Toby. Not that he had a real issue with him, but it's just the fact Reaper doesn't like anyone who is loyal to Slenderman. And with Toby being one of Slenderman's most obedient proxies, it made Reaper grew a bit of coldness towards him.
"Whats so "good" about it?" Reaper said in his usual cold tone.
Toby was not surprised by his response, he had gotten use to the undead scythe wielding killer's cold demeanor. Even that isolated nature of his was starting to become a thing everyone was either getting use to or trying to get use to.
Toby:"I figured y-you would say that." He said. "Well, anyway, since you're u-u-up. I'm sure you're probably going to g-go down and get some coffee, huh?" He asked, although it was just a joke.
Reaper rolled his eyes, his expression hidden behind his mask. But Toby obviously could tell Reaper was not interested in jokes. Like, at all.
"Like I CAN drink anything, Tobias. Anyway, I'm just going downstairs to make coffee for whoever wants it. That, and I need to do something before the whole mansion begins to wake up and ruin the silence. We'll, what silence I can get anyway..." Reaper said, already dreading the amount of annoyance he will be putting up with soon.
Toby knew Reaper was more of the loner and peaceful type, despite the name "Vengeful Reaper". He moved out of the way, giving Reaper space without uttering another word to him.
Reaper walked past him, making his way downstairs and into the kitchen to prepare some coffee for any of the residents who might want some. He wasn't doing it to be nice, he just had no need to drink or eat anything. Even though his throat was a bit dry.
He worked on getting everything ready, grabbing the coffee maker and prepared to brew some coffee. The coffee maker wasn't in the best shape, just like almost everything else is around the mansion, and Slenderman could care less about getting a new coffee maker. Let alone anything new for that matter.
Reaper didn't really care, he use to hide in abandoned houses and sometimes cemeteries before he was forced to "live" at the mansion. So this didn't bother him much.
While the coffee was brewing, he heard the sound of footsteps coming from upstairs and then making thier way down. It was Jeff the killer, looking as horrible as ever. His black hair was dirty and completely a mess from lack of self-care, his eyes more bloodshot than usual. And that carved smile in his face was always appalling for Reaper to see.
Jeff:"Well, looks like death himself is up as usual I see. And wearing that stupid costume too." He said, already looking to annoy Reaper.
Reaper didn't even care to respond, he was putting his focus into the brewing coffee just so he can have an excuse to do something instead of having to hide in his room before he gets forced out of it again. As much as he wished he could just be alone entirely in the mansion.
Jeff was not thrilled that Reaper didn't give him a response this time, so he decided to push his luck a bit more.
Jeff:"Hey, dead boy! You just going to stand by the coffee machine like a moron and act like you didn't hear me?" He said, trying to get a response,
Reaper still wasn't going to give him the satisfaction, he learned quickly that it was best not to give into Jeff's crap. And he was doing so right now.
Jeff was not liking this one bit. He was starting to get a bit pissed off that Reaper was outright ignoring him.
Jeff:"Hey! Are you even listening or what? I'm talking to you!" Jeff said, walking up to him a bit.
But still, Reaper kept on ignoring him without a care.
(This was just a small thing I thought about, it has no relation to my scrapped Creepypasta AU idea, I just wanted to do something for fun. Sorry for the long read)
