For all its faults Tumblr has truly ruined all other social media for me because my friends all have Instagram and are all trying to get me on Instagram more but every time I open Instagram there are like fifteen things screaming for my attention and when I get over myself long enough to start scrolling it's like. Where is my chronological dash. Where is the following-only option. Who are these people. Why are there so many videos. Everyone is screaming at me. And then before I know it I'm thirty minutes into scrolling and I haven't seen a single thing that I actually care about. At least on Tumblr when I see stuff I don't care about I know someone I follow has found a new interest.

Like unironically we should be subsidising at least 50% of their educations. What do you mean we have a shortage of doctors we should have surplus. What do you mean they’re being overworked they should be treated like royalty, they can fix human bodies

I don’t care if some of them are only doing it for the money. I don’t care if all of them are only doing it for the money. Intentions don’t matter to the stitches in my nana’s leg or the ten billion other lifesaving treatments we all get at a detriment to their finances and mental wellbeing. Entire cities are kept alive by just a couple thousand of them what are we DOINGGGGG

AND you should be able to become a doctor working no more than eight hours in a row and regularly getting eight hours of sleep. You should not have to sacrifice your own mental and physical wellbeing to become a doctor. I think that makes worse doctors actually.

I feel like we should adapt the duty time-limit system we have for airline pilots. If you’ve been working X amount of hours, you can’t keep going and MUST be given Y amount of time off to rest. Institute a defined number of hours on the job past which it is mandatory to clock out. No exceptions.

And even more importantly, measures (institutional and state-mandated) that protect healthcare workers from retaliation if they call out sick or fatigued, and that also protect whistleblowers reporting these safety violations.
