makes you really reflect on your life

i remember seeing a theory about this on tumblr that the only reason you can’t enter is because your reflection is blocking you

like if you figured out how to get your reflection out of the way

what if it starts with the protagonist thinking that the other side is really messed up and that the reflection is trying to protect them by not letting them enter but then it turns out this side is the messed up side and the reflection was trying to keep them out

and like if your reflection was a separate entity it’d explain why you look so different in a picture as opposed to a reflection

because the picture would really be you and the reflection would be something else

it’s even weirder when you think about it like

some of us look in the mirror and feel miserable and others feel like their reflection is great

the miserable ones are taunted by their reflections and the confident ones are reassured by it so it’s like

your reflection has a personality that’s different than your own and that’s pretty terrifying

and you look different in each mirror, you notice different things about yourself

so what if you have more than one reflection and they’re all just AUs that you’re getting a tiny glimpse into and how each one makes you feel at any given time is your personality in whatever world that is

and the sad ones are being kept in check by the reflection that makes them want to look away and keep them away from the good side
