This show’s writers were so god-tier they managed to condense a James Bond movie down to five minutes and fit one into every episode, and the running gags never got old.

Steven Universe the Movie thoughts and Spoilers
There's obviously a lot to say, and some I'll put here and others I might not, but there's a very important aspect I really want to touch on and it's Spinel, Pink, and the Diamonds.
Spinel is, was, abandoned by her friend, who was also like a mother to her. Someone who was supposed to love and care for her, but who, due to a combination of being too young to have a child and suddenly getting the chance to grow up and leave her unsuitable situation, abandoned her kid she couldn't take care of. Her neurodivergent kid. A child who won't ever really grow up, who can't or won't, it doesn't matter, but was left behind because her caretaker didn't know how to raise her and, frankly and sadly, didn't want to.
Pink wanted freedom, she didn't choose to have Spinel, Spinel and her prison her forced upon her, or so she felt. It's like looking in a prism, of you look at it one way, it shines and shimmers just how you like, and another way it might not, or just be different than how you expected.
Pink's ability to be a mother 6,000 years later, reminds me a lot of my own mother. Someone who had a kid too young, thinking it was en vogue, made her look responsible to her parents who never truly cared for her or loved her, made her seem adult and pave the way for her younger sisters. She thought it would benefit her, and that's the primary reason I'm here. It was the same with my sister, and only until the 3rd child did she *decide* to have a child, only to realize, to her horror, that actually raising a child wasn't at all what she thought it would be. After only 2 years of actual parenting did she give up and return to her job, saying, "it was a mistake" and, "this isn't what I wanted" and all manner of other thing that if my other, youngest sister could hear now, would destroy her. It's just part of why I'll never have a child, never.
Spinel is, an unwanted child with a condition. She's the best friend you could ever want, if you have time and patience for her. She's everything, but only if you want her to be. Only if you love her, and she so deserves love, everyone does. Children who are neuro-divergent deserve just as much love as all other children should have, they just often need more time and patience to become their own person.
The Diamonds are l, thankfully, perfect for this. The song even fits the very apt representation of the grandmother I had, the older ladies in my life who helped raise me in the community. My many mother's who were there for me after my mother left. After my father fell into his depression, after he got out of it and was never the same, was violent and cruel, never understanding how he could be abandoned and cheated on, left to raise 3 kids. In some ways, he had it the hardest, despite how young we were, but he took his pain out on us, became and alcoholic, hated who I became as a person. Spinel, thankfully, has the rare chance I had, in a loving home and patient mothers who want nothing more than to rekindle what it was to have a child again. These older women are godsent; they had their nest is now empty and they'd be more than happy to care for a grandchild. They have so much love, and they want her to come live with them, "in the palace". They will treat her like their own, she, "reminds them so much of Pink" of their own daughter. She's their granddaughter and she's just a little different.
What a beautiful story. I really needed this.
False tears bring pain to those around you, a false smile brings pain to one self.
oh i’m sorry
What makes this better is that C.C. is fully aware of the coup and risks being spotted for the sake of pizza. If that’s not a mood, I don’t know what is.
