Happy Star Wars Day! I’ve decided to make my Skywalker comic into one easily rebloggable post.
Here’s a bonus page in honor of May 4th!
this is the best thing I've ever seen
ffs ....
Additions from my husband: Bakers wear loafers and Zookeepers wear Crocs
Excellent additions.
Angels wear wingtips.
A lumberjack wears Timberlands.
Ice skaters wear slippers
Addition from my mom: delivery drivers wear vans
VERY good addition!
Achilles wears heels.
how is this post from this decade and not like 2012
this is what tumblr was made for
THE CASUALNESS OF THAT COLLIE SLIPPING RIGHT OUT OF THEIR COLLAR. That dude is a Willing Participant of this walk and by god everyone else is going to follow the RULES.
im a fan of the moment where the husky is like 'wait you're not authorized to do that' and the collie is like 'THE FUCK IM NOT'
unstoppable force (border collie) vs immovable object (husky)
my favorite part is the full body check the border collie gives the husky. truly a "QUIT YOUR BS" moment and it worked XD

Copyright class actions could financially ruin AI industry, trade groups say.
AI industry groups are urging an appeals court to block what they say is the largest copyright class action ever certified. They’ve warned that a single lawsuit raised by three authors over Anthropic’s AI training now threatens to “financially ruin” the entire AI industry if up to 7 million claimants end up joining the litigation and forcing a settlement.

Authors have until March 30th, 2026 (That is just 9 days as of this reblog, which I am posting on March 21st, 2026) to file their claim against Anthropic to be reimbursed up to $3,000 per work found in the list.
Updated February 18, 2026 IMPORTANT: The Claims Deadline Is March 30 Background Bartz v. Anthropic is one of the major copyright lawsuits b

It's true. We'll all be confused until April 25th, when all we'll need is a light jacket.
Honestly...windbreaker season.
The sun is strong enough to warm you if you have a windbreaker shell. All you need is a light sweatshirt underneath it. Bonus if the shell is also waterproof.

YES THIS IS MOST EXCELLENT.
Disney/Fairytale Inspired Story: Ooh look! The handsome prince! Don't you think he's so handsome and charming?
Me: He's evil, isn't he?
Story: ah-HAH! Shock and terror! He's evil!
Me: Who woulda guessed...
Story: Behold! The evil witch!
Me: She's a good guy.
Story: But what if she was the good g- Okay, smarty pants. How's this? The kind and noble king is-
Me: Evil. Or incompetent. Or both. Is it both?
Story: Th-The stepmother-
Me: Is a misunderstood victim.
Story: The goblins and trolls-
Me: Are good people being opressed by the wicked humans. And let me guess. Fairies and mermaids are evil man-eating monsters?
Story: M-maybe. Well... uh... I swear this world is super surprising and subversive. The themes are unique!
Me: Are the themes related to disillusion with one's own childhood and what you were taught by birth, using fairytales and classic motifs as a stand-in for government, parental figures or religion? Does it frame traditional mindsets as inherently flawed and harmful?
Story: Er ... well... the princess-
Me: I know, I know. She can save herself.

yuuuuup
It's kind of sickening that an AI artist topped Christian music charts.
Then the person behind it made a song about how he didn't have a band, but God gave him the tools with AI to produce music.
No, AI isn't a tool given to you by God. If you wanted to make music for the Lord and you were limited by your lack of knowledge in music or the tools to create the music, there were other ways. There are voice synthesizers that were based off a consenting singer -if it used a singer as a base- that have been around for over a decade (think of Miku Hatsune- and there are more like her). There are software programs like GarageBand (don't know if that particular one exists anymore, but still) that can help you create the music score. There are tons of resources to learn music theory in order to figure out how to put it all together.
Or go with the screw around with the software and figure things out that way.
AI meanwhile uses the songs and voices of others with or without their consent, trashes the environment, and does "the work" for you so you can feel accomplished while doing the bare minimum.
Sure, the guy apparently writes his own lyrics, but apparently that's as far as he's willing to go in this. And if he was really finding it that difficult to put music together, then maybe what he should have done was find someone proficient in music who could help him realize the vision.
Turning to AI and claiming the Lord provided it as a means of worship doesn't wash with me. It tells me you're not going to work on the vision and dream God likely gave you. You want to cut corners.
Modern Christian "music" has been derivative and boring for a loooooong time. In fact, I would date it specifically to the release of the Newsboys album Adoration, where one of the most lyrically unique and musically interesting groups out there gave up their own style for generic praise choruses. And it has unironically been downhill from there.
And those of us who sounded the alarm on this have been mocked and derided as "old fashioned." This is how modern Christian music is, we were told. It's not so bad to sing songs from the radio at church, we were told. Don't judge how other people choose to engage with Christian music, we were told.
Well. If it keeps us out of the weeds of pretending AI is legitimate art, then maybe it's best if we were all a little old fashioned and make at least some judgements.
‘Judge not lest thou be judged’ was about sin, NOT about musical quality. God does not want you to check your brain at the door of the concert.
A lot of this applies to other Christian media, too. Christians, for some reason, think it's just okay to be completely mediocre at any craft and they'll still get pats on the back for it.
It's NOT SECULAR to CULTIVATE SKILL. There's nothing against God when you take the time to become really really good at something! It's not a sin to work with non-religious people to get your thing produced! It's not anti-Scripture to make art that isn't 100000% infused with Christianity!
Like, I'm sorry, but the more we praise and are ok with mediocre "Christian" art (music/writing/drawing/etc.), the less we can actually engage with a secular population, who, according to Scriptures, need to be reached the most. We become the "cringe weird Christian art" that everyone hates so much. And that does damage to Christianity as a whole! We need to normalize excellence in our craft, and that DOESN'T mean making art that beats people over the head with Christianity. Doing anything less is, quite frankly, an insult to the God we profess to believe in.
Animation for Jim Hawkins in Treasure Planet done by Danny Galieote. From his Facebook:
"Flashback 2001–Before painting full-time—At Disney…When I animated Jim Hawkins in these scenes, I had to be very present mentally and physically by acting out the scenes before drawing them. These rough pencil scenes are the bare bones of the movie.
For example, the shots with him stuck below deck with the giant spider villain (Scroop), I was listening to the soundtrack to Jaws (by the great John Williams), which always makes my hair stand up
*These were drawn with thick Design Ebony graphite pencils."
