The "source" of Mimi being a man (actually, a trans woman, but in about seven words you'll see why the term always used by people spreading this is "man") and being a "legitimate pedophile" is KiwiFarms.
Mimi being a man was deduced by, supposedly, following a trail of Steam user IDs and correlating them to similar usernames on other websites.
Mimi being a "legitimate pedophile" is based on, after following the above trail, finding that the supposed Pixiv account of Mimi follows an artist who drew art of Stephanie from Lazy Town. Stephenie was portrayed by two actresses over the course of its run, both of whom were underage at the time of the show's recording (which was over twenty years ago). That is what people, including Chibi Reviews, are calling "pulling a Shadman." Oh, and the art in question was, according to my source (because KiwiFarms did not actually provide a link to the art or even name the artist of the artwork, so I couldn't confirm jack or shit otherwise) was not only deleted after the artist was informed of the actresses age at the time of the show's recording, it was posted only two months before the KiwiFarms detectives took a screenshot of it's tags, meaning that not only is Mimi being called similar to Shadman and "legitimate pedophile" over following an artist, but being called such over an artwork she may not have even seen because it was possibly posted after she was arrested and deleted before she could access Pixiv again and reveals that, if my source is to be trusted, the artist is not in the habit of creating this kind of artwork.
Oh, and, I must point out ChibiReviews, in the same thread that they condemn Mimi based on what KiwiFarms "discovered," said, in no uncertain terms, that KiwiFarms is not a trust source.
