These guys have been on our radar for a while now... watch out for them! AND watch out for an exclusive interview with the founders of the brand coming soon.
Throughout the Meltdown mixtape Mr Melta manages to sound competent on a mad variety of beats. Theres reggae, grime and drum and bass sounding tracks as well as the hiphop. The opening track ReIntroduction is big, so is No Faking but my personal favourite is All About Love. This tune brings the feel-good factor to a mixtape which is often very dark.
Mr Melta is definatly an MC to watch out for. So go download a copy of the mixtape @ www.mrmelta.bandcamp.com And while your there check out Meltas' other releases. (The Light'em Up E.P is another sick release.)

Issuez reminds me of propa old school UKHH, London Posse or Hijak style. There are some banging beats on this compilation, not sure if Issuez produced them himself but big ups to who ever did. Issuez rymes go in HARD and this release is definatly one that b-boys and hiphop heads are gonna dig.

Released on DTTS records, A New Way of Thinking reminded me of Jedi Mind Tricks or Snow Goons type Hip Hop... BIG BIG beats are backed up by the metronome flows of Billy White and a heap of features from other rappers and DJs'. The standout track has gotta be They Know, produced by Bronze Nazareth and featuring tight verses from both Billy and Jukstapose this one is a cold tune.

Love & Blessings from Nate Glace.
Nate is a Rasta rapper, and one of the most positive and intelligent lyricists about.

Erb'n'Sider is an album of back to back boombap bangers. Tight production from various artists is complimented by Mista Switchs' skippy flows and well crafted lyrics. Some tracks like R U Satisfied and Bristol Barbarian are full of swagger but this is balanced out nicely by deeper more introspective tracks such as Running and Drift. A guest spot from Eva Lazarus on Do It makes this tune a real standout, the softer female vocals make Switchs' verse hit extra hard and the skippy flows make this a proppa headnodder.
Baisically you should go buy this album because its dope!

Plug ya cranium into the mainframe bitches! Unexpected Item in the Bagging Area is only 6tracks deep but still feels jam packed with content. Futuristic boombap bangers are complimented by a combination of introspective, politically subversive lyrics and Orwellian sampling, leaving you with the feeling of floating through a cloud of jellyfish (the big, friendly, spliff-smoking kind).
For me the stand out track is One Door Closes. Produced by Prolapse himself, this sounds like some space age ska and I can't help but skankout from the drop. Plus the impersonation of his irate boss is too funny, but despite being tongue in cheek the verses are well crafted and far from being gimmicky.
Joey Prolapse has a unique style, but if I were forced to make a comparison I would have to say that this release sounds like Aesop Rock and Flying Lotus made a superfunky lovechild and hired Scroobius Pip to babysit.

Nam Kyo is a summer somewhere in a hazy memory, the sun setting but the heat still hanging in the air and the light fragmenting between leaves. Listeners meet the wise and mischievous spirits of Humble Pious and the Brewdem: they whisper reminders of the things which matter and are good in life, and conjure up a simple world of close friendships, elevating the mind through music, wonder and curiosity, a spliff and a cup of tea, a beautiful garden, giggling at farts, 99p ice-creams that really are 99p - half nostalgia and half directive. In its dark corners, one finds disgust at the greed, hate and self-obsession ruining the world, the futility of trying to change it....sadness quickly denied indulgence. Since discovering Humble Pious I don't really want to listen to anything else, but thankfully he is the most prolific of artists and his discography is free at: www.humblepious.bandcamp.com
