Massive Curls!!! Hells Yeah!!!
Boil perm was a success!
Doll Hair Salon Day!! Boil perms are always a bit nerve-wracking for me. Fingers crossed 🤞
Reroot, repaint and restyle of some Ever After High thrift dolls. I affectionately call them 'Moon Age' and 'Daydream'.
Doll clothes patterns from raddollclothes.com and doll hair from CustomDollHair on Etsy.
Edwardian blouse and skirt sewn from a raddollclothes.com pattern, modeled on my Anna reroot and repaint bc I just love using her as my model.
It's certainly been awhile since I posted any new dolls. I had the misfortune of injuring my hand and shoulder, enough that I ended up out of commission and into physiotherapy for half a year. Like the rest of my artistic hobbies, doll customizing took a hit, but it's nice to be able to get back into it.
This sweet gal was a trainwreck thrift find that required a bit more tlc, but was worth it in the end! After a reroot, repaint and restyle, she is back to sitting pretty!
Doll clothes pattern from raddollclothes.com and was lots of fun to sew. Doll hair is low temp nylon from dollplanet.com
Been sewing some outfits the past few days, modeled on my Anna repaint and reroot. Patterns from DGRequiem on etsy.
Had to pause dolls after my arm injury, but today I was finally able to get a little work done. By far one of my favourite repaints, reroots and restyles that I've done. Im very proud of her. Sewed her outfit myself too! This Thriftstore gal got quite the make over!Clothes pattern from DGRequiem on Etsy. Hair from Custom Doll Hair on Etsy.
Thrift store Ever After High doll repaint. Restyled her in a new dress from another doll and boiled permed her hair to get some oomph back to it! It is rare I find EAH dolls that don't have glue head, so this gal was a treat to have her hair in such nice condition! Gave her new hands, painted white, since I wanted her black ones for another project.
Thrift store Ever After High doll repaint, reroot, and restyle. The outfit pattern is from DGRequiem on Etsy, hair is a combo of blue crush High temp nylon, and Robin's Egg saran with a punch of metallic blue.
Thriftstore Disney Descendants (I think?) Doll. Repaint and restyle. Tried to do victory rolls with middling success, but hey, learning! Jacket pattern from 'Sewing Clothes for Barbie' by Annabel Benilan, and dress pattern from DGRequiem on Etsy.
Thrift store Ever After High reroot and repaint. I loved her fun little outfit, so I was definitely keeping that! I work on her at the same time I was working on my previous EAH doll, so in my head the two are besties, and took a pic collage to reflect that!
I usually don't jump the queue when posting pics of my dolls, (there are four paints finished ahead of him I'm still styling) but this poor secondhand boy sold in Kristoff's clothes demanded attention. Here's my first Prince Hans repaint. Been terrified to work on one bc his dolls are not easy to find here, but this one had scuffed off paint which made it easier to take the plunge. I'm glad I did. Really happy with the way he turned out.
Thriftstore Ever After High doll repaint and restyle. I've got a fair number of thrift dolls collected that I've now also got a bit of wardrobe and accessories collection to pick and choose from, and decided to play dress up with this gal. Boil permed her hair since I need more practice with that!
Presenting Her Royal Majesty Queen Anna, and her Prince Consort Hans! Reroot and restyle Anna doll complete! This is an AU Queen Anna ignoring the sequel.
And wow she was a lot of work and a lot of problems—from split head (twice!!!!) and almost losing her reroot (twice!!!), to boil curl and glue issues...man. Lots of problem solving, but she came out lovely in the end. Her dress is a hack and slash from a dress one of my other thrift dolls came in. I believe it was originally a Princess Fiona from Shrek dress. Hans is my Coronation Hans from back when that doll was released.
Thrift Ever After High doll reroot, repaint and restyle! Second Dryad! She was actually finished in the winter and has been waiting for clothes. I learned that sealant does funny things in the winter, and she's shinier than my other dolls. 🤷♀️
Second Siren finished! This gal was a trainwreck thrift Lagoona whose face I accidentally marred while taking her gross old hair out. Decided to roll with it, and gave her some scars.
