“Daisy,” he said, testing the name out. He’s sure he’s seen her around, and he feels terrible that he didn’t remember her name at first. With everything that’s been going on, he hadn’t really gotten to know any of the new prefects, let alone the rest of his juniors. “Honeydukes it is, then! Do you like anything in particular?”

Daisy smiled as Ted said her name back to her, giving him a small nod as she did so. “Alright, well in that case please lead the way.” She said, signalling for them to continue onward. “Sweet wise? Personally I’ve always been a fan of just plain old sugar quills and chocolate frogs... They’ve got so many things in there to choose from now that half the time I just go back to what I am used to so I don’t get too overwhelmed. Do you have a favourite?”

“You’d think that with all this snow that we’ve been having that they would at least try to make it a little warmer in here in the evenings...” Daisy muttered more to herself than anyone as she tugged her cardigan tighter around herself. “I’m going to catch my death a cold at this rate.”

Edward:

“I’m not very good with faces, so I sincerely apologize,” he said sheepishly as he wracked at his sleep-deprived brain for names of the Hufflepuff prefects. “It’s Hookum, right? I think my friend might not make it. Mind if I accompany you? Maybe buy you something from Honeydukes to make up for forgetting such a lovely face?”

“Honestly, it’s absolutely fine.” Daisy replied with a small smile. “See, you got there in the end. But Daisy is just fine.” She nodded. “And of course you can. There’s no need to buy me anything, though it wouldn’t be easy to refuse anything from Honeydukes, but the company would be great.”

“Well of course it would be nice to get some sort of letter or gift, or something... After all who doesn’t even secretly hope that someone would think of them on a day like today?” Daisy asked her companion as she continued to walk down the hallway towards the Great Hall. With it being Valentines Day, she had been surrounded with enchanted paper hearts, owl post and girls with flowers and various other gifts since she woke up. Even though she had no significant other and so didn’t expect to get anything herself, she liked to see others happy.

Ted: 

Ted adjusted the bag on his shoulder and glanced behind the younger girl quickly before turning his attention back to her. “Wait, you’re in your fifth year?” He asked incredulously. “I would never have guessed. You look a lot younger than you actually are,” he said, ruffling his hair sheepishly. “Terribly sorry, there.”

“I really should be insulted by that... You know, considering we are both in the same house and we are both also Prefects meaning our paths do cross regularly...” Daisy raised her brows at Ted before she gave him a smile. “But it was an easy mistake and can be forgiven.”

Andromeda:

“All the same,” she said, shrugging. “I don’t like to keep people waiting.” She rose as Daisy did, her eyes moving back towards the entrance of the library as she began to head that way.  “We could start on the seventh floor, and work our way down, if you’d like. I feel old admitting it, but finishing at the bottom leaves me that much closer to bed,” she said, laughing softly. 

“Consider it already forgotten about.” Daisy offered Andromeda another forgiving smile as she followed the older girl out of the Library and in to the corridors. “That sounds absolutely perfect to me. For more or less the same reasons actually.” She chuckled. “I’ve always thought that sending us right up to the seventh floor was a bit unfair when our Common Room is underground. And I suppose you’re in the same position.”

Ted:

Ted had made sure his schedules were sorted out for the week, so he could enjoy himself, this weekend. Exams had been killer, and he was in dire need of a proper break. The Hogsmede weekend had been just what the healer ordered, and he was one his way to the bookstore to get a good set of books before probably getting pissed with his mates, tonight. 

He turned around to check if Benjy had been following him when he bumped into someone. “It’s alright, I think it was my fault,” he said with a chuckle. “Yeah, I was just waiting for one of my mates. Is this your first Hogsmede weekend?”

Daisy smiled up at the older Hufflepuff, taking a step back so that she wasn’t as close to him. “Well I am still sorry nonetheless. We can just say we were both to blame and leave it at that.” She nodded slightly. “Um, no, I’ve been enjoying these weekends since I was in third year like everyone else... “ She replied a little awkwardly, confused as to why Ted would assume that she had never been before now.

Andromeda gave Daisy a sheepish half smile, a silent apology in its’ own right. Oops. “Actually, I think that’s me,” she said. “One of my housemates asked me to cover them tonight, but he neglected to mention that you two had an agreed upon meeting place. I’m sorry to have kept you waiting.” Folding her hands in front of her, she offered Daisy another half smile. “Shall we, then?”

“Oh, don’t worry about it, anyone can see that it wasn’t your fault.” Daisy replied, easily offering Andromeda a forgiving smile. She could hardly blame the older girl when she wasn’t the one who was supposed to be here in the first place. With a small nod, she got up from her seat. “Yes, of course. I’ll let you lead on.”

The rest of the Maruaders were tied up in their own plans for the day, leaving him by his lonesome for the time being. Little alone time was fine and refreshing in a way. Little company would be appreciated though. Daisy was sweet, generous and kind. James had no problem spending sometime with her and making a new friend. 

“Impose? Hardly.” he said, cheekily. There was a bit of grin before he gestured with a nod to the doors. “I’d love the company. Unless you just wanted alone time. I’ll shove off then.” 

With a smile, Daisy offered James a small nod as she readjusted her back on her shoulder before making her first steps towards the main doors. “No no, the company would be great. It can be a long walk when you’re on your own.” She nodded again. 

Heading out on to the winding path that lead down to the Hogsmeade Village, it took Daisy a moment to get her footing, but once they were on their way, she was able to get in to a steady pace that easily allowed her to navigate the small rocks below her feet. 

“So is it just Honeydukes that you’re planning to go to today, or was there anywhere else you wanted to visit?” She asked, attempting to make light conversation.

Remus walked down the corridors, he was on prefect duties that evening and he was rather glad about it. He was sure that the rest of the marauders were up to something in the south side of the castle, so he continued to check the north. He was beginning to feel rough as the full moon was coming up very soon and his aching bones were not ready to deal with running away from the teachers.

As he walked he ran a hand threw his hair, he always became nervous and anxious as it came up to the full moon. Not to do with his upcoming transformation, it was inevitable and he had grown to accept it. His anxiety about everything just grew, about his friends, his family, the bad things that showed up on his newspaper every morning. As he walked he chewed on his fingernails and stared out threw one of the large windows along the corridor.

He patrolled along the fourth floor corridor when he saw a swoosh of robes around the corner. “Excuse me, what are you doing out of bed??” He called as he paced forward to look at where the robes had gone.

For the most part, Prefect duties were never an issue for Daisy. She seemed to be lucky when it come to the partners she was put with, and generally she got patrols on evenings where the halls were nothing but quiet. This evening was no different, with the exception that she had no partner joining her on her route around the hallways.

It gave her the chance to deviate from her usual path. Of course, deviating in Daisy’s eyes simply meant going in the opposite direction than she usually would, but the change was nice, or so she supposed.

She was very much in a world of her own, wrapped up in her own thoughts when she suddenly heard someone call out. At first, she assumed that the voice wouldn’t have been directed at her, she was meant to be out here after all, but after a moment of continuing to walk on, she stopped and turned around, raising her lit wand to see who was quickly approaching her.

“Oh, I didn’t realise anyone else would be in this part of the halls... It’s part of my rounds for tonight.”

Strolling casually into the library that evening, Andromeda wasn’t sure she was going to find any stragglers. It was still the start of the new year, after all, and she doubted many people really wanted to be out and about this late- it was freezing. Even Andromeda didn’t want to be out doing rounds. So, when she spotted a lone figure at one of the tables further from the entrance, she quietly joined them.

“It’s after curfew, and I know you know that,” she said simply. “What are you doing in here so late?”

Glancing up from the notebook in front of her, Daisy looked up at Andromeda. “Oh, well I’m on Prefect duty, so I’m meant to be here... I’m just waiting to for my partner for the evening to show up and then we’ll be on our way.” She replied with a slight nod.

“If there was one thing that I could change then I would get rid of all of the hared and inequality in the world. It pains me to see so much fighting over whether a person is a Pureblood or not. No one is better than anyone because of their blood, we all have the potential to be great, and we should be allowed the chance to be.”

Hogsmeade weekend. James wouldn’t miss an opportunity to get out of the stuffy castle. Honeydukes, best shop to get the sweet you were craving, was going to be his first stop. Gryffindor scarf around his neck and jacket buttoned up. Securing his money in his pocket, he wasn’t watching where he was going while he walked to the main entrance. Colliding into someone he looked up to find Daisy.

“No harm, no foul.” It was mostly James’ fault anyhow, for not watching where he was going. “I wasn’t looking where I was going. It’s my own fault.” A polite smile was forced and he started heading towards the doors. “Uh – yeah. Want to go to Honeydukes. You going too? If so, want to walk together?”

After stepping back to see who it was she had bumped in to, finding it to be James Potter, she couldn’t help but be a little thankful. There were many other students who would have been less than kind towards her if they had bumped in to them, but as she expected, James appeared to be more than forgiving. 

“Oh, I wasn’t looking, so I’d say we were both to blame in this case.” She nodded slightly. “But I am heading down that way, yes, though I wouldn’t want to impose or anything.”

With her satchel swung over one shoulder, and her every day coat buttoned right up under her chin, Daisy was on her way out of the main entrance of the castle to head to the path that lead down in to Hogsmeade Village when she suddenly bumped in to someone else. 

“Oh, I am so sorry, I didn’t see you there! Are you on your way down to Hogsmeade too?”
