Okay so yes we need to put more money into education in the US but y'all this SPECIFIC line of thinking has much less to do with public education and everything to do with the evangelical war on science. This exact “earth age” rhetoric isn’t the result of dumb people, its being taught in Christian schools and touted in evangelical churches. Evangelical lobbies help pass laws that force states to teach creationism alongside evolution. Millions are spent every year by evangelical institutions to convince partitions that science is lying to them, to force them to belive the only place they can find truth is the church. Creationism is just another facet of that and acting like it just “Americans are dumb” rather than a pointed, purposeful campaign to keep people in a what amounts to a cult, is not oy disingenuous, its dangerous

Hamilton council votes against using surplus police money for social programs

2 councillors said surplus funds should go to address homelessness, mental health, addictions

Hamilton city council voted down using year-end surpluses from the local police service for social programs.

Coun. Nrinder Nann (Ward 3) moved the motion on Thursday that would direct staff to create a policy sending surplus funds from the Hamilton Police Service (HPS) into a community resiliency reserve. Ten councillors and the mayor voted opposed, while Nann and Coun. Maureen Wilson (Ward 1) were in favour. Three councillors were absent.

The money, the motion said, was intended to go toward “housing and community-led supports and services to address homelessness, mental health, addictions and substance use that center prevention and intervention.”

The image up top isn’t a still from the video, nor does the video contain a frame with of the woman that matches the photo. The picture is almost certainly a genuine un-altered image taken during the video shoot, and while that doesn’t prove that OP is the woman from the picture or that the woman in the picture banged Adam Sandler, it doesn’t prove she’s not or that she didn’t either. Personally, I want to keep believing that someone from Tumblr Dot Com managed to hook up with Big Daddy just because that is very, very funny.
