My vision goes black and I wake up

I try to go back to sleep but I do not want to experience that again.

I don’t want to dream of being assaulted with no chance of my own nervous system waking me up

So I lay in bed and I take a few minutes to myself.

It’s not the first time I’ve had these nightmares

It’s why I know they’ll happen back to back to back to back

I do not go back to sleep

I go to school and hope no one thinks my tank top is an invite
