Epilogue - Don’t Tell Me (2005)

Some called it too sedate, but for me, this was the perfect shoot to leave it behind—my ride into the sunset, if you will. I still have the shirt and boots. When I marry, it'll be on this very spot. And she'll be there too, with Lourdes in the front row. (Not Rocco, I hope. Sure, I'll invite him, but kid's still a dick ten years on).

The company was expanding—great for a live show, difficult for a cramped shoot on set. I recognized things were starting to wind down but remained happy—fit to tour and enjoying a mentor's status. "Hung Up" ushered in a period of odd creative choices though. Cloud (on my left) had to dress the part of a sushi chef and flail his arms using fish as numchucks.

I thought I'd been lucky and caught her attention during group rehearsals, but it turns out I actually impressed her by being the only guy to consistently nail the interwoven-running choreo without crashing into the other line of dancers. We both grin when someone mentions it. Maybe not grin. More of a "smize…."
