âWomen are also rejected. Women also spend their teen years pining after dreamy boys who will never love them back. You donât see us going around murdering people over it. You donât see us setting up internet communities for the purpose of talking about how evil and shallow men are for not taking us to pound town. Women donât go around killing men who donât like them, because if youâre a woman in this society, a boy not liking you is the least of your problems. It is nowhere near the shittiest thing youâre going to be expected to âjust deal withâ in your life â one of those things being the fact that we are expected to âjust deal withâ how men are sometimes going to murder a bunch of people because they felt entitled to romantic attention from women. We are expected to âdeal withâ that, while never bringing up the terms âmale privilegeâ or âmale entitlementâ or âtoxic masculinityâ and why those things so often lead to mass murder, on account of how that might really hurt the feelings of the men who have been gracious enough to not go on killing sprees.â

YOU MUST VOTE IN 2018
The 2018 United States elections will be held (for the most part) on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. During this mid-term election year, all 435 seats in the United States House of Representatives and 33 of the 100 seats in the United States Senate will be contested. 38 state and territorial governorships and numerous other state and local elections will also be contested.
Just for the record
Here is a list of people who COULD have voted for Trump and did not

THINGS A PRESIDENT CANNOT DO:
Reverse any Supreme Court decisionÂ
This includes Obergefell v. Hodges, which made same-sex marriage a constitutional right; Whole Womanâs Health v. Hellerstedt, which reaffirmed a womanâs right to choose first articulated in Roe v. Wade, another Supreme Court case. Grutter v. Bollinger, which instituted affirmative action, the entire body of Civil Rights case law, plus anything related to due process, including the right of minors to due process, your right to an attorney, Miranda rights, inadmissible evidence, etc.
(Even if Trump appoints the worst possible SC nominee, they still canât reverse any of these decisions without a really significant case coming before the Court with new facts, and then they have to write an opinion stating how this case is different than that other caseâŚitâs unlikely to happen.)
Write law or repeal any existing law
While traditionally, presidents have exerted influence on the legislative agenda (see, Obamaâs role in advancing and promoting the Affordable Care Act) they cannot actually write or pass legislation. Bills, joint resolutions, concurrent resolutions, and simple resolutions must be introduced in the House by a Representative.
Presidents cannot strike down law. Only Congress can repeal laws, and only the Supreme Court can strike them down as unconstitutional.
Presidential influence is just thatâinfluence.
(And ifâfor exampleâyou are hated by 95% of the party you joined last week, and burned all your goddamn bridges by insulting them at various points in your campaignâŚ..theyâre unlikely to partner with you in crafting legislation.)
Make any law or declaration that infringes in any way on the rights of the states
So in the US, most of the rights are reserved to the states. You name it, itâs a state-run power. Criminal procedure and law? States. Medicare and Medicaid? States. The definition of marriage? States. Insurance, health departments, housing, unemployment benefits, public education, all these are state programs. And the president cannot infringe on those powers given to the states.
(This is why down-ticket voting is so important, because Mike Pence as governor of Indiana had 800x the power heâs going to have as VP.)
Declare war.
This one is the most complicated, because with the advent of our âconflictsâ in Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, etc. there has been a significant shift in the articulation of the war doctrine, and it is one of the least restricted of the presidentâs ârestrictedâ powers. But, despite all that, a president still has no power to declare war.
Unilaterally appoint heads of administrative departments
Unilaterally make treaties with foreign nations
Essentially, while presidents have a lot of power, itâs mostly unofficialâthey canât make sweeping laws, they canât overturn existing rights, the most they can do is refuse to enforce them (which is absolutely a threat! and a problem!) but we arenât electing de facto royalty here.
I am an atheist but I am praying for these things
- the continued good health of Ginsburg, Sotomayor, Breyer, and Kagan - especially Ginsburg, I cannot stress this enough - the brains of the half of the senate who can use them - the next two months and what Obama, Lynch, and Kerry can accomplish - the amazing understanding of the rest of the world of how our system works - I mean really, if Americans understood half as much of foreign elections as they understand of ours, the world would be incredible - the stoic steadiness and (I hope) reason of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and DoD advisers who may be able to prevent the nuclear war I havenât feared since Andropov - seriously, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, may she live to be 150
