HEATED RIVALRY 1.01 / 1.02 / 1.04 / 1.05
So, this is Opal and she's the light of my life. She's a nine-year-old English bull terrier mix, and I've had her since she was six months old. She loves to ride in the car, get pup cups, and snuggle on the couch with me. She loves her grandma and tolerates her human sibling. She loves meeting new people and small dogs. She loves when I play music in the house. If I'm at home, she's within five feet of me at most times. Currently, she's within touching distance.
Recently, we went to her annual vet check-up, and a couple of concerning things popped up on her blood work. Long story short, we're going to have to do some testing for her liver function (an abdominal ultrasound and a bile acids test), as well as some testing for her elevated creatine kinase, since right now there are no obvious reasons for her to have elevated creatine kinase (typically comes from muscle mass trauma, which Opal has not experienced).
This is going to be expensive! I'm supposed to receive a list of estimated prices for these procedures, but it's going to be expensive. Luckily, these tests don't have to be done all at once, so I can kind of triage what needs to be done and when, and it's also good because she isn't actively presenting as sick. It's still going to be expensive.
I would love to be able to offset the cost as much as I'm able, which is why I'm opening up tarot readings. I'm obviously not psychic, but there's something to be said for working through your questions with the help of familiar archetypes and cards.
If you'd like to donate to the cause but don't want a tarot reading, that's totally available as well. I'll stick them down at the bottom of the post (I have Paypal and Venmo). If you're interested in a tarot reading, please check out the information under the read more.
If you can't do either, no sweat -- but reblogging this post is also extremely appreciated!

washing dishes is evil because you go "oh fuck there's so many dishes this is gonna take foreverrr" and then you enter the dish abyss and emerge with your abdomen somehow covered in water and your hands all wrinky and then you look at the clock and what felt like half an hour was actually 10 minutes

The Times link won't post on its own. But let's just subtitle this "EVERYBODY HATED IT (AND THERE WERE ALSO COPYRIGHT ISSUES FROM BIG COMPANIES)."
i feel like people aren't getting how dire ai is. we are running out of drinkable water. our brains aren't engaging as much with what we see and hear. people near data centers don't get clean water and experience electricity blackouts. it's being used to make pornography of underaged people and women. it often just lies. it affirms everything. it lies. it has made people kill themselves. it lies for gods sake. and people act as if im dramatic for being staunchly against it. 'now i KNOOW you hate ai and whatever, but look at this cute video' this isn't me being a new age puritan about internet videos, this is about the fucking earth and our future living on this planet. people are suffering now, people will suffer more, and my friends and parents will roll their eyes and think im annoying for despising ai so explicitly. we need to wake up because we cannot live like this
