Okay but imagine being the team of Eridian scientists tasked with keeping Erid's Only Human alive for as long as possible while the whole planet's environment is literally trying to kill him. And then Rocky shows up and is like:
“Grace says he would like half of dome to be water.”
“Oh, is necessary for humans to have large amounts of water question?”
Small Eridian equivalent of a sigh. “No. Not needed for life. In fact Grace will die if he falls in water and does not get out.”
“Tell him we give him water in containers that won't kill him. Lots lots lots of water on Erid for Grace to drink.”
“No. Grace say he want water on ground. Also want it with excess sodium chloride compound so it will be unhealthy for drink.”
“WHY QUESTION???”
To celebrate Erid getting their sun back on track, Grace asks for some alcohol. There's a small amount left from the Hail Mary and Rocky offers to take it to the science Eridians to see if they can synthesise more.
“Grace want this liquid for celebration.”
“Of course.” They scan it. “You have wrong liquid. This contain compounds which are poisonous for humans.”
“Yes yes yes. Grace say humans like feeling of being slightly poisoned.”
“WHY QUESTION?????”
Grace is like one of those extremely finicky tropical fish who instantly die if not kept in extremely specific conditions.
Only here the fish can talk and keeps asking you to make it vodka.
Patron Saints of One-Way Trips
Saw a passage from the book and got inspired
hey guys so the hero that keeps barging in my tower seems to be using some sort of chronomancy called “quick saving.” have we figured out any counters for that yet or what’s the deal
genuinely Carl will come up with a barely logical plan that involves almost dying and several unpredictable insane coincidences to pull off and the AI will be like "sure baby that can work for you" and then Carl in his internal narration is like "the ai is out to get us" as if that thing isnt the BIGGEST reason so many crawlers are alive rn
Stratt is the funniest bitch in the project on purpose. When she makes a joke she 100% meant to do that and she knows that it's the funniest shit ever, even if everyone is too intimidated to laugh.
Grace is the funniest bitch in the project by accident. He's used to being around kids so he's forgotten that filters are a thing and just says the first, dumbest joke that pops into his head. He has no control over it. Nobody makes him feel bad about it because they're afraid of what Stratt will do if they hurt his feelings.
Rocky is the funniest bitch on the Hail Mary because he's been alone in space for years and has probably gone insane, sane, and then insane again. He's 10-20% worried that Grace is just a vivid hallucination and treats him accordingly.
Carnivorous plants doin this is so funny to me
They don't wanna eat their pollinators :(
had a fucked up dream i had a book that turned out could never be read again the same as the first time because each reread the characters became incrementally more aware that the events of the book had happened before and they were “reliving” it and i reread enough times that they became self aware, figured out they were in a book, acknowledged me as the reader, and some lost their minds or had existential crises, became violent to other characters or themselves, some begged me to never stop reading or they ceased to exist and others begged me to end it all stop reading and keeping them trapped in the endless loop of torment, and the literal only way to get the book back to its first run was to hand it off to someone else to read for the first time and for some reason i physically couldn’t tell anyone about it so i’d have to just hope whoever i gave it to would only read it once and i could never open the book again to check if they were okay and back to normal because i was terrified of fucking them all up again :(
Honestly I love this premise

We have seen homes that tried to look like castles, and small homes that were castle wannabe’s. This, however, is the closest I’ve see to a real castle and it’s in Rochester, Michigan.
There isn’t a moat, but the front entrance does mimic the look of a drawbridge.
There have to knights in a castle. This one has a lot of wood, but it’s lighter than the dark medieval style. Owner’s preference.
Of course, there has to be a grand staircase.
And, a castle also needs a great room.
The kitchen.
And, the royal chamber.
This is what you see when lying in the bed, looking up.
This is the main bedroom’s ensuite.
It’s a relatively small castle, b/c there are only 4 bedrooms. In this, the 2nd bdrm., is a trap door in the floor.
Which leads to the 3rd bedroom.
And, another bath.
The 4th bedroom.
This is the home office with a loft and the door in bookcase is a safe room.
This is a craft room with a drop down work table. The shelving also tucks away.
The hall of mirrors looks like fun.
The home has secret staircases and hidden rooms, but I don’t think that this one is a secret.
And, this is the bar.
This looks like an interesting area.
The garages are on the east side of the building.
The garage is very beautiful inside, also.
The gates look like they include watch towers.
Aerial view of the surrounding area.

Honestly, $1.6M million bucks is a steal.
I have tried unsuccessfully to add this to my Amazon wishlist.
Thoughts on A Parade of Horribles [Spoilers]
I thought the book was good but I do think it's a shame that we don't have as much focus on having a unique design for the floors as we did previously, and overall it just all feels a lot more rushed than before. Imo heats 5 and 6 were interesting, but I think do not overall balance out this aspect entirely. I understand that this parallels both the showrunners' and AI's desire to just wrap this up as quickly as possible (and it is imo a very plausible explanation for the tempo change), but as an avid litRPG reader (it is my favourite genre, in part due exactly to the Dungeon Crawler Carl series) what I tend to value in a book is interesting abilities and level design and there is much less emphasis on this in this book especially (though honestly level design peaked at Iron Tangle). Additionally, the limited time between levels left far less time for plotting and crafting, which was an element I personally enjoyed in earlier books.
Having an entirety of level 11 just complete itself in a few chapters (and in around 2 hours in game time) just felt like a little bit of a disappointment to me. The lore drops we get regarding the lore surrounding the dungeon and what is going on on the outside are very interesting but only mostly to the effect that it has the ability to affect the plot, and being something that the main characters are able to exploit and interact with. In this book, unlike in the earlier books that isn't the case, it is more of a demonstration of utter chaos that the characters get to hear about, but can't really do anything about. There is every chance that this is really more of a setup book, but in my opinion many of the elements that drew me to the series originally are much less prominent. Additionally, in all previous books the levels, to various extents, felt thrilling and dangerous, and the stakes were high, whereas I feel like this was far less the case in this one.
Overall, this feels to me like a setup book for later as there is a lot of emphasis on trying to get the scolopendra myth out there and getting a lot of pieces in position on various floors, but I suppose we'll just have to wait and see. Obviously I still like the series and it sounds to me like other people enjoyed it far more than I did, but I do think this swerved away from being a litrpg a little bit this book (something even Donut remarks on regarding not levelling up even once during these levels, so that's interestingly self-aware).
“Ghosts are real” I can see how you could believe that
“Ghosts aren’t real” it’s very fair and rational that you believe that
“Ghosts aren’t real anymore” I’m about to hear a poem or very sad story
“Ghosts aren’t real yet” the fuck are you going to do
why is it always that the sign that the robot/AI is becoming ~*too human*~ is when they fall in looove
give me a robot who realizes they’ve ~*exceeded their programmed parameters*~ when they get incredibly emotionally attached to their favorite movie and start writing fanfiction about it
Tags: a robot who gets a pet and suddenly this small animal is more important than their programmed mission a robot who discovers they really REALLY like chocolate a robot who accidentally breaks a household appliance and cries in frustration a robot who is woken up by their programmer and mumbles ‘five more minutes’ god there are so many human things for a robot to do I LOVE IT GIVE ME ALL OF THESE STORIES
A robot that gets into an editing war on Wikipedia because this other person is wrong and not citing sources and clearly biased and no it will do that calculations later because this is important.
A robot who doesn’t like one scientist because it thinks her hair is stupid.
A robot that finds logical paradoxes meant to disable it incredibly funny as if they’re jokes and comes up with its own.
A robot that develops a deep interest with a random trivial object like doorbells, dice, or ribbons and devotes a lot of its processing power to studying them. Fascinating.
A robot that was broken down for a while until some animal nested inside it and after it was repaired it was honored that an organic creature chose it as its shelter.
A robot that likes the class of the human-visible electromagnetic spectrum designated as ‘aquamarine’ (#66CDAA) and surrounds itself with this colour as much as possible, even collecting (or stealing) all objects of this colour. Similar colours like sea blue or teal will not be accepted.
I love these!
Okay but I love “A robot who doesn’t like one scientist because it thinks her hair is stupid.” especially. Forget robots who discover humanity through the power of love, give us robots who discover humanity through the power of petty, irrational hatred.

Yea the robot who hates a scientist because her hair is stupid is basically GLaDOS 😂
