Felt great to get back at enameling, this time I experimented with making a gradient and adding in some slices of cane that I made myself! It feels good to look at see that even though I go long stretches without getting to make anything, I am still learning and building skills.

Turns out, if you can doodle an oval, you can draw a horse.

I’m already seeing the benefit of studying horse anatomy, golly these things are complicated. But the shapes make a lot of sense when you see the muscles and attachments underneath. Also the amount of fascia in a horse’s body is amazing to me.

Got the saddle on tonight! I put so much work into his saddle blanket, but so little is visible. I really love this little horse. I can’t wait to see him in the final piece.

I've been bad about updating this blog with new patterns, so as of October 2024, here is everything I offer! All are patterned directly from antique garments in my collection (or collections I was given permission to work with).

Most are sizes XL, XXL, and/or 1X, and I have a couple down to S and several up to 3X.

All patterns have detailed size info in the listing, but for general labels I use this size chart.

I also have several free corset and brassiere patterns from antiques, 1870s-1920s (graded sizes are available for purchase).

Next pattern up, currently in testing, is this stunning ensemble....

I’m really curious about how people see their habits changing as the internet environment evolves.

Having lived in northern Virginia where land is vanishing into the void of data centers, I wish I could get offline entirely. I can’t think of anything I’ve seen in the last ten years that I wouldn’t give up to get just one field of fireflies back.
