The NYT review, good review
“thank you for loving him the way he needed to be loved.”
he was gnawing and chewing on this thing dragging it around on the ground using it as a step stool and a hammer and a fly swatter Anything but reading it or adapting it
i know the set of iwtv season 3 is gonna look like an episode of baddies w/ sam and rolin pulling each others hair out over lestat's characterization
WOWWWWW this aged well my god
Any TVL cast member being interviewed: yeah so when I first read the script I wanted to murder Rolin with my bare hands :) haha yeah he butchered my character so badly that I threw my laptop across the room :) aha and then I yelled at him for two hours which only resulted in minor tweaks to the script :) yeah I was so shocked and confused :) and he comes up with scenes that don’t make any sense in-universe. :) and I worry for the future of this tv show :) but it’s alright as long as you think about how [5 min in depth analysis of details that the cast member has come up themselves to justify the season despite these justifications not being evident in the actual show at all] aha :)
can someone at the next sdcc panel do that to rolin jones please
do you think he literally "Went to heaven" if people in the room were victims?
i beg, use your brain.
i think ur both reading my post and watching the show with your eyes closed bc i said why WOULD he go to heaven. ik he didn't actually go to heaven because he didn't die and neither did louis ? but the heavens quite literally opened up above him which is fucked considering claudia is rotting in hell LMFAO
Me @ the writers
the decision of the writers of tvl to not clarify lestat's role in the trial, why he was there, how exactly and to what extent he was coerced, to never address it, to never have lestat explain himself to louis, but to treat it as though lestat is obviously innocent and has nothing to explain.........................................................profound
How it has felt watching tvl after waiting for 2 years, and excitedly recommending the show to everyone I know:
iwtv is my dead wife and she was brought back wrong
ok i just finished the finale .... why the fuck would lestat go to heaven when claudia is literally rotting in hell/purgatory until the end of time and why is PAUL of all fucking people comforting him. and correct me if i'm wrong but doesn't that scene literally confirm lestat was involved in his death bc everyone in that room was one of his victims ? the treatment of poc and general punching down this season is sooooo gross and weird and i'm genuinely so confused as to what this season was supposed to accomplish. i think tvl has to be cursed because there is not a single successful adaptation of that book...... anyway rolin jones and hannah moscovitch you have to step on a landmine
truly the way this season has made me feel like a clown like sorry i enjoyed the tv show you wrote thats on me my fucking bad glad ur just dancing around stamping on everything i found interesting and mocking me for liking it ok like truly what the FUCK happened in these two years
watching an extremely low quality recording of the finale bc i just need to know how bad it's gonna be before i go to work tomorrow
"lock in" is probably one of the most important phrases to enter the public lexicon in the 2020s
So much happened in 3x06 that Louis’ nuke of also being a victim of incestual abuse almost slipped past me. Are we suppose to pretend that Louis getting paid by a family member to sexually assault him doesn’t recontextualize literally everything? His view on sexual violence? Why he went into the sex work industry and started running brothels in the first place?
Did none of the other Du Lacs know about this? Was he told not to tell anyone? Or, worse, did his parents know and he was still told not to tell anyone to uphold the illusion of an upstanding family? Does this have any bearing on why he used to be so reserved and tight lipped about his vulnerabilities? Does this add another layer as to why he used to recoil from his own sexuality, beyond the political landscape and his religious upbringing?
Does this play a role in his desperation to be seen as a good son and good brother and overall good family man, after being a victim of incest? And getting paid for it? What effect did this have on the way he views profit and exploitation? On the way he views himself? On the way he bases so much of his identity & self worth on his ties to other people?
Screaming from the rooftops that Louis was paid to be sexually abused by a family member! Was this a single event? Did this happen several times? How old was he??
AM I JUST SUPPOSED TO LET THIS GO??????
THE VAMPIRE LESTAT + nail biting
