"Black lives matter" (2020)

In memoriam of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor & Ahmaud Arbery who died in separate incidents from police brutality seemingly targeted at the black american community.

With the most recent one with George Floyd who's arrest was caught on camera, as he was pinned to the ground by a white officer's knee to George's neck initially caused by George being suspected of using a counterfeit $20 at a store. Witnesses say he kept on saying he couldn't breathe to which the officer ignored for around 8 mins. He died of asphyxiation.

Breonna Taylor was an EMT but was shot at least eight times by an officer as they forced their way through her home with a search warrant for Narcotics investigation. They found no drugs.

Ahmaud Arbery who was fatally shot while taking a jog in rural Georgia. He was followed by two armed white men in a truck who later said he looked like a suspect in a string of local burglaries.

Products of racism and unfounded character profiling.

"Not my responsibility" (2020)

Ever since I heard the song "Ocean eyes" from an obscure singer in sound cloud I was hooked.

Her musicality has evolved since then but with all her advancement not just in the music scene --or against it--(as she says so in her interviews) but also in her views and sentiments regarding society's issue as a very influential person at her young age is something to be admired and listened to.

"不要吃我们" | Bùyào chī wǒmen (2020)

With the suspected source of the CoViD19 virus as coming from either Bats, Civets or Pangolins even the Chinese President, Xi Jinping ordered officials to crack down on markets selling animals illegally and eliminate people’s “bad habit of overeating wildlife" last Feb 3, 2020.

Endangerment of the lives of wild animals has always been a global problem and the virus may have been nature's answer to our indifference.

Kinaadman (2020)
- literally translates to “Wisdom” in Filipino.
- It’s been last 2013 since I’ve done any more illustrations like this and it definitely has been a while. I’d like to think I’ve earned enough knowledge or wisdom from all the things that has happened– or has not happened in my life and even though it has had its ups and downs, I’m still appreciative of everything and still believe in the future of what is to come. Thanks for bearing with me.

The Pied Piper of Hamelin

- A modernized approach to the Pied Piper fable. Citing influences from Japan's Suicide Club movie in which a rock band's music causes teenagers to commit suicide. My take isn't as dark as Suicide Club but the youthful frenzy and magical air of the flutist are still strong concepts presented.

First I made this thinking about the YOLO concept and the frailty of life and how we should make more of how little time we have, but I found out that's not how life should go. Because 'this' life is not 'it' yet.
