James didn’t even care that she’d bumped into him as he was used to plenty of people doing it today with the number of students milling around the same area. “A dragon? Nope, can’t say I have seen one,” James replied with a shrug before pausing and then looking at the girl suspiciously. “Wait. Are you actually being serious?” He raised a sceptical eyebrow because he heard and saw so many weird things at this university that he began to not question anything. But this was definitely seeming like it would be number one on his list of weird and strange things he’d seen.

“Oh shoot, I’m going to get expelled for sure!” Embry whimpered. “Yes, I am being serious I really lost a dragon. Please don’t ask me how I know it seems ridiculous.” The blonde covered her face in her hands. “I’m going to be in so much trouble.” she whined into her hands before looking back up at James. “Do you think you could help me find him before the professors find out? Isn’t that like the Potter thing to do?” She tried to muster her best puppy eyes.

Henry’s eyes widened so much that there was an actual danger of them popping out of their eye holes. Was Embry being serious or was she just fucking with him? “Did you just say you lost a dragon?” he asked, honestly hoping that he was already drunk enough to have had misheard her even though all he drank was just half a beer. “How big is it?”

“Sshh.” Embry hissed in a not-so-quiet way herself. She had hoped he would’ve picked up on her whisper and do the same, but it was Wizfest and she hadn’t taken it into account that many students had been drinking. “I haven’t told anyone! I don’t want to create panic during Wizfest....or have any professors find out. Oh! If they do who knows what they’ll do to me! Can you help me find him? He’s maybe just a little bigger than me he’s not full grown yet or anything. Please?”

Typically Anya had woken up late, meaning she didn’t particularly rush herself to make it to the courtyard. On the way there she had been asking herself why she bothered volunteering to help with the booths at all, until bumping shoulders. “–the fuck?” She snapped, brows furrowing and expression quickly pulling into a frown as she got a look at who it was. The brunette leaned away, not appreciating the invasion of her space. “How the fuck does one escape on you? They’re too big for you to not pay attention to.” A sigh escaped her lips and she was unmoved. “Tell your bloody professor. Since it’s the first time, you shouldn’t get expelled.”

“Well he’s not exactly a full grown dragon and I don’t know if you’ve ever actually been around one but they’re slicker than you think. Especially when they’re younger.” Embry explained. She shook her head repeatedly at Anya’s suggestion. “I can’t. I could get kicked out of my program. They’ll definitely kick me out of my society. I have too much to lose.”

‘ Help, with what?’ the redhead’s eyes widened the second she heard those words- unsure if she heard that right. A dragon was out, a dragon was out! ‘ Okay, don’t freak out or everyone else will too.’ she offered into a breath. ‘ Let’s um…let’s cast a spell to find him? Or um, where was he last time? What does he like? Let’s start from there and see-’

“Well the last time I saw him was in his cage, when I was grabbin’ him to get him ready for Wizfest. Cuz you know like, I figured showing first years a dragon would be a cool way to get them to join the Care for Magical Creatures Society and I think he thought we were playing and he just kinda...got by me...I already thought of using a spell but I can’t have professors finding out. Oh my god, I’m gonna get kicked out of my program!” The words kept running out of her mouth as she started panicking, even though Lily had told her not to. “He uh...he likes food....a lot....not people like he knows not to eat people okay we’re okay there.”

“I can’t wait to not sleep for five days straight because of Wizfest. Every fucking year. But it’s worth it.” He clapped his hands together and quit slumping in his seat in the dining hall. “Don’t know why it’s tradition for us big kids to plan out the forest one. So much work. Wanna help me brainstorm while I just…” he tried being slick to steal the other’s food. “borrow this.”

“I’m only a second year I have my own thing to plan for Wizfest. You fourth years are incredibly lazy, but fine. I suppose I can add on to my busy schedule - hey!” She swatted his hand away from her food. “Get outta here! I agree to help you and you swipe my food!? And here I had the perfect idea for what you could do to really spice up Wizfest this year.”

Embry was rushing through the courtyard, ignoring everyone who waved her down to promote their society or whatever - she wasn’t paying much attention. She was too busy internally panicking over what she had just done, during Wizfest of all times, and couldn’t even focus on who was even around her. She was looking up at the sky, hoping maybe a strange shadow would cast and she could solve her own problem, when she accidentally bumped into someone. “Oh Merlin! I’m so sorry!” She started as she looked at the other. “Oh it’s you! Oh my gosh, I-I need help.” She leaned in and whispered. “Have you, erm, seen a dragon or something? One, um, kind of escaped on me when I was preparing for Wizfest. I’m usually so good about it okay this is the first time this has happened I’m freaking out I dunno what to do.” The words rushed out of her mouth.

embry is 19 years old, in her second year, and in ravenclaw. 

she’s studying to be a teacher and has a concentration in magizoology cuz she absolutely loves magical creatures (specifically dragons ok). no surprise, she’s in care of magical creatures society.

embry is a super nerd. like such a dork. cares hella more about academics than partying or anything like that (but she does party i promise!)

she’s like this cuz she’s a muggleborn witch and her parents just...don’t get it?

they don’t think her magic is special or wonderful they don’t like that she isn’t like her siblings or like them and they don’t care much about her cuz she’s so different from them

so embry is makin’ a point to get her name out there in the wizarding world and prove herself
