Below the Cut: one (1) close up, a speedpaint and usual ramblings about the process
First the closeup - I like adding those, because usually I spend most of the time rendering the faces and eyes, and they end up pretty small on the canvas. (I sure hope the quality of this one looks better when the post goes up, bc the preview in the draft looks a bit crunchy tbh)
Now the speedpaint: you are watching the work of 5 ½ hours in about 2 ¼ minutes. This one went pretty smootly. I already had an idea of how I wanted to draw this when I sat down so I got into a flow really quickly (... and absolutely forgot the time, whoops)(I didn't even notice I had put on the headphones but forgot to turn on music until I was about 4 hours in). At some point I reajusted the framing by cutting the canvas, because I felt like it was too zoomed out.
This might be actually the most rendered Ao Ex fanart I've posted yet. (but not the one I spent most time on haha - I think that goes to the one I did with the Encanto crossover). Though I advise against looking too closely at the chibis. I have 0 practice drawing chibis, so this was a bit difficult for me (and I still feel like they don't look quite right but I think it's fine). I also think it was the part I struggled with the most. I know the original was only Mephisto themed, but I felt like adding Rin, Yukio and Amaimon to this.
This was my first time ever doing a DTIYS, but it was so much fun! Thank you to @anchisupairaru for making this challenge.

So! In hopes that this can prove to be helpful, here are a few "rules" for this very small, fun & fandom friendly event!(Can I even call it an event? I'm not sure that's the right word...(人*´∀｀)｡*ﾟ+)
1>There is no time limit to join! Yep, you've heard it right! Whatever you find this a few days after it's been posted or a few hours or a few months or even by next year, if you're feeling like you want to give it a try, feel free to do so at any moment! No rush, no pressure, hop in at your own pace and have fun, you're welcome to do so at any time!^^
2>You can participate through whichever modality you prefer! Traditional art, digital art, uuh, paper crafts, or anything else that you feel you wanna do, give it your own twist however you desire!!^^
3>I suppose it is obvious, but, like...ai is not an option. This is supposed to be something fun for everyone who likes to create, whichever the method, and so, no, ai is not wanted, not welcome, not fun, not art, and so, please, do not use it, thank you for understanding. [Similarly enough, it's also not ok to either trace nor steal, as in, avoid claiming that something someone else has made to participate belongs to you, that's not how it works.]
4>Kind of as said above indirectly already, as much as this is a "draw this in your style", you can change a few elements of it here and there if you wanna! Like, say: you want to add some cool background to it? Go on, it doesn't have to look exactly like the reference I've provided for the conceptual idea of this!!^^ Leaving it uncolored and making a black&white piece is alright, too, and the list goes on with all kinds of relatively small changes you may wanna apply to your own take for this!!^^
5>I suppose people would've done so either way, but, uhm..please, if you do participate, either tag me to your own post (in the caption or in the comments, wherever you prefer will do^^) or post your own by reblogging this post, whichever way is fine, so just that I don't end up missing your beautiful work of art and can get to see it!!(人 •͈ᴗ•͈)<3
6>Completely optional, *but*! *If* you'd like to, you can also share in your own post the art process, like a speed paint or screenshots/pictures of the wip(/s) for it, but it's not like you gotta if you don't wanna, just sharing the final piece will do absolutely just fine too, it's your work, so share it however you see fit!!^^
7>It's not an event attached to anything specific nor planned for any special occasion of sorts, so...there is no time limit, as stated on the first step, nor will there be any "winners", as in, this isn't the type of even in which I'd later be selecting favourite ones, which means I also have nothing to offer as a prize of any sort, and I apologize for that, *but*! Know that if you are to take part in this, I will be honored and will appreciate it and will be super happy about it forevermore!!(人 •͈ᴗ•͈) It was correct for me to clarify this, tho, this has been thought purely to be fun for who takes part in it, no expectations, no judgment, no losses, no prizes, the only thing that matters to me is that the people who do will join will be having fun with this (which may be something that I overstated by this point, oops–), so! That is how this dtiys will work, but! Who knows!! There's still so much I want to fix before I start coloring or anything like that but it's cleaner to look at than before. But I wanted to share my progress haha
If the lines disappear or appear somewhere and it looks odd, it's probably bc I just made a mess trying to temporarily hide them, so it's easier to just see the parts that would be visible in the end.
