She sighed from where she sat safely underneath the paper parasol. Shes never known the warmth of the sun, or not at least the way humans described it. Pleasant, warm, safe. No to her the sun hurt, it burned her skin, left her sore days after exposure.
Atleast like this she can enjoy the sun. Her father never approved of her little moments in the sun, he'd berate her about how vulnerable it made her. How she was setting her self up for defeat, and maybe he was right. After all it was thanks to her enjoying what she could of the sun that she was in this mess.
Would he be worried about her? Angry at her for getting caught like some cheap second rate day old demon? She doesn't know, what she does know is that she really wants her dad right now. She wants the dad that sneers at her for her daily strolls in the sun but never once frobids her from them. She wants the dad that always seems to have an endless supply of work and yet is never too busy for tea with her. She just wants her dad. Shes not sure if shes ever going to be able to see him again, that thought upsets her. She doesn't like thinking about that.
She looks so much like her dad, its something shes always been told. She sees it to, when she looks in a mirror, when she looks at her father. Even more so when her father takes on a female form. She has his dark raven hair, wavy and long. She has his pale skin and his plum slit eyes. There was very little that she shared with her mother, the shape of her face, her figure, her voice. She misses her mother too.
She straightens her black kimono with embroided flowers and looked over her shoulder and watched as a small bunny bounded across the garden. Her mouth filled with saliva at the sight, and it took all her willpower not to pounce on the poor thing and rip it apart. She was starving but she was more dignified then that, she was taught better then that. She would rip a human apart as soon as shes back with her dad, her father won't deny her that, she knows he won't. He'll let her eat as messily as she wants and wipe away the blood on her cheek after.
She turns away from the sight, bringing a hand up to wipe the drool that had dripped out of her mouth away. She was so so so hungry, bordering on starvation. The only reason she wasn't whithered from stavation was one beacuse of the superior blood that runs through her veins and because sometimes she gets given a cup of blood. Sometimes its pig blood, sometimes its human.
Mostly its pig blood though, the human blood is reserved for when the hashira feel like shes been good or when they want her to act grateful towards them. She has mixed feeling about the human blood, on one hand its human blood. It feels so good to drink, it tastes so good. Sometimes its even marechi blood! Thats her favourite, if it wasn't for her Kibutsuji blood then shes sure she'd act like a lesser demon at the mere smell of it.
Sometimes it has wisteria in it though, she doesn't like that blood so much. She can tell from the smell of it. It makes her feel sick, it hurts her after she drinks it. It leaves her weak the rest of the day afterwards, sometimes a couple of days. She wonders if thats why they do it, to keep her weak. Shes thought of refusing to drink the wisteria blood before, but the fear of never getting blood again stops her. She needs the blood or else she'll whither. Shes seen what happens to demons who starve, she doesn't want to go out that way. She'd face the sun before she starves.
Flames flicker across her skin as she sticks her hand out from the safe shade of the parasol. She feels detached as she watches her skin bubble, her skin crisp up as her body desperately fights to repair her burnt cells. Maybe it would be better to surrender to the sun now, save her father the greif, save herself of the unknown pain of the future. A shout however cuts her thoughts short and she quickly pulls her hand back to safety. Her skin repairs itself in a blink of an eye, like it was never harmed to begin with.
Looking over to the owner of the voice she saw one Mitsuri Kanroji, the love hashira. She bounded over to her, stopping just short of where she was sat. Mitsuri surgered forward and grabbed her hand, though she kept them within the safety of the parasols shade.
"Is your hand ok Miss Kibutsuji? I saw it in the sun!"
She sneered at the love hashira, snatching her hand back. She looked away from the love hashira, once again watching the poor little bunny that she wanted nothing more than to tear apart.
"You are mistaken Miss Kanroji, why on earth would I subject myself to the sun? Perhaps you should get your eyes checked, you humans have such terrible vision."
Mitsuri frowned disbelievingly at her before the frown slipped off her face and was replaced by her previous smile. She leaned forward and grasped her hand once again. She had half the mind to tear the offending limb off, and she would've had she not of been in the situation she was.
"Come Miss Kibutsuji, lets head back inside."
Mitsuri dragged her back towards the house, though she was careful not to extort too much force on her, less her parasol tips and exposes her to the sun. She wonders why they bother keeping her alive at all, it would be so easy to just get rid of her, strip her of her parasol and let her burn in the sun...and yet they do not. They feed her small doses of wisteria at times, but never enough to kill her.
They don't know her name, she refuses to tell them. They refer to her as Miss Kibutsuji, and a various other unsolicated nicknames. No one outside of her father and the uppermoons know her name. The only reason they know she is her fathers daughter is because of how she looks, and because of that Kamado kid and his perculiar sense of smell. She does not tell them anything else either, not a single thing.
It evades her as to why shes still alive.
