Edward x Diesel 10 was my favorite crackship since 2020, I love size differences and these two just fits my taste even more than Gordward.

Honestly if you think about it, they kinda fit each other, Edward being surrounded by alot of diesels in his work (Boco, Salty, etc) has gotten used to them by now, Diesel 10 I imagine he's going to be aware, but not hostile yet.

The scenario could be, D10 for the first time, met a steamie who doesn't straight up insult him, or vilify him in anyway, treating him as an equal.

I feel like, they wouldn't get along immediately, but D10 doesn't dig into him like he does with other steam engines.

i dont think shipping is antithetical to good media analysis but even in situations when the romantic reading absolutely makes a story worse sometimes you have to go well. we're playing with toys. yes i know this character would not get into a conventional romantic relationship and if they did itd ruin a lot of the themes of the story but fortunately the original story still exists and i have no control over it. im playing in the space and nobody can stop me.

RWS book idea: Edward’s Furness Days

Story 1: into the siding- Edward was being rough with the trucks while shunting so the others told him the story of 115, in which he was never rough again

Story 2: Albert and the trucks- after his incident in the snow, Albert is relegated to goods work, who take advantage of the icy rails making him crash through the station

Story 3: Edward’s express- when another engine called Hazeltine (taken from thomtoys) breaks down before taking the express it’s up to Edward to get the passengers where they’re needed.

Story 4: saying goodbye- Edward’s called away to help build a new railway and struggles with saying goodbye to all his friends, but once he’s able to he travels to this mysterious island where he meets a tank engine from the LBSC

a feel like the new generation of fanfic readers NEED to understand that clicking on a fic (interaction) does nothing. ao3 has no algorithm. your private discord discussions of fic do not reach the authors. if you do not actively engage with writers they will stop posting. this isn’t social media this is community.
